When you're walking up to a coffee shop and people are outside having happy conversations on the patio, you know you've found the right spot. C'ville Coffee is where all the locals come, and if that doesn't make you want to go, then you probably don't like good coffee.

Fun place and great coffee. The owner is out and about making sure everyone is happy. The atmosphere is interesting and inviting.
Food was good, a little pricey for the portion.
Service was super friendly.
Atmosphere was clean, bright, lots of books, very funky and fun. Wine, beer, food, coffee.... what's not to love?
Favorite place to chill with coffee and a book
I visited Cville Coffee for the first time on April 3rd, 2025. The drinks were decent, so we returned the next morning—big mistake.
For context, I have one arm and no prosthetic. I ordered five large hot coffees to go and had my wife with me to help carry them. The barista placed the overfilled cups on the counter with no sleeves, no drink carriers, and no stoppers. I asked for a carrier and stoppers to safely transport the drinks. Her response? “We don’t have any.”
Stunned, I carefully walked out, trying to avoid a spill. Just two blocks later, the lids on three of the five cups popped off. The paper cups were completely warped—clearly not suited for hot liquids. Scalding coffee spilled onto my lap, legs, arm, and hand, and ruined the white interior of our rental car.
I called and asked to speak with the owner. Tyuan, the shop owner, called me back an hour later to apologize. I appreciated that he took responsibility and admitted they should’ve had stoppers and cup sleeves. I also received a handwritten apology from him and the barista. They’ve since added the safety items that were missing—but I don’t know if they’ve switched to better-quality to-go cups yet.
Tyuan also told me that in 25 years, no customer has ever asked for a stopper, and that I’m the first person to be burned by their coffee. That’s a shocking admission and, frankly, unacceptable. When serving scalding beverages, the safety of customers should never depend on whether they ask for protection—it should be standard.
I hope no one else has to go through what I did.
I've been going to c'ville coffee for years. It's a wonderful place
Thai may be the best coffee shop to study??? Cute vibe. Solid WiFi. Good coffee and hot chocolate. The sandwiches were also pretty good though slightly tasty. Anyway a nice study spot to knock off some work on a weekend!
A perfect meeting spot for groups! Great location and atmosphere!

The place itself is fine. The coffee and food itself is good if not a little overpriced. ($3 for hot water!)

Have loved this spot for years:
- when my kids were younger, they enjoyed the cute play space while mommy could have a coffee moment
- now they’re older and it’s a great spot for an after school snack and reading time
- when they’re not with me, I love the adult friendly area to chat with friends or have an alone moment with a treat
Kid-friendliness: Separate area for families with kids and an adult friendly area for quieter down time

I have always loved this place. Never a bad experience until today. It was very obvious the young lady who served me had a problem with me being a black man. Not friendly to me but extremely friendly to the customer in front and to the party of two white women that were with me. The only way to attack underlying racist behavior is to call it out. It will not stop me from coming to this great place but if the tall young lady who served me at 4PM today I will think twice before I have her wait on me again. Perhaps some diversity training is needed with staff.

This place is always packed but the coffee is worth the wait. The food is good too! Love the kids play area.
Parking: There’s a parking lot but it’s small.
