I know I’ve said this before but I’m saying it louder for the folks in the back who probably couldn’t hear me THIS CHEF IS IMMENSELY TALENTED AND HER FOOD IS OUTSTANDING! WHEN YOU NEED A CATERER DON’T HESITATE - CALL HER!!! Chef Kesha’s professionalism and attention to detail is impeccable. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you Kesha for sharing your talent with us.

I want to begin this review by stating that Kesha blew me away at the tasting. She had rustic decor that fit our vibes and vision of the wedding. She arranged for our tasting to be in a cottage at our venue!! Every amount of her food tasted delicious. Her warm personality and her delicious food was everything I had dreamed of. We got menus from 4 caterers and did tastings with 2. Because Kesha was pretty busy, we had to wait a little later to do her tasting and as a result, needed to put a $500 on with the other caterer to preserve our options. We were happy to do this, because she spent a lot of time ahead of the tasting on the phone with me to cultivate the menu. Once we did the tasting, we were head over heels for Kesha! We knew she was the right choice. She was a smaller business compared to the other company, but we felt like the personal touches and efforts she put in really made us feel comfortable and seen. She was amazing. I also felt better because she told me that she had catered an event shortly before my wedding at the same venue where she did the rehearsal dinner, brunch, and reception for a couple and absolutely nailed it! A few yellow flags we ignored in the beginning- I booked a discovery call with her using her online scheduling system and she called me shortly before to move it because she had double booked herself (despite it being an online scheduling system). She charged $25 to work up a menu/price estimate. No other caterer charged this. She charged $200 for a tasting. Our other tasting was $25 per person, and other caterers' tasting prices were still smaller than hers. She was on the list of preferred vendors for our venue as a “private chef” not a reception caterer. When I called her for a quote for the morning of brunch, she said that she did receptions too and that the venue just must have miscategorized her. These warning signs really would’ve been NO big deal for someone as amazing as she appeared to be. We also felt confident because of all the great reviews. However, I’ve come to realize these are for a company out of Charlottesville with a VERY similar name. It is not for Kesha and her business. However, after the tasting.. Something happened. We still don’t really know what and haven’t gotten much of an explanation. Kesha became harder and harder to reach. We really had to chase her down in order to get any of the changes we made at the tasting and final selections nailed down in writing. Things she wrote on the contract or in emails were hard to understand. I’m using the word contract loosely, because it was a 2 page “banquet event order” whereas other caterers, including the company doing the drop off brunch the morning of our wedding, had 4-5+ contracts clearly laying out expectations of both parties very clearly. For an $8500 price tag (not including bar services which were contracted separately), I expect to have and understand things pretty clearly ahead of time. I believe very strongly that if everyone is crystal clear on expectations, it leaves no room for miscommunications ahead of time. Kesha began very quickly to get frustrated with my questions and developed minimal patience for me. This did not exist prior to the tasting when she was trying to sell me on her business. When the venue strongly recommended vendors attend a walkthrough, I asked Kesha about this. It was not included in the pricing and was an additional charge. While this is fine, she did seem reluctant to attend and had very, very limited availability. At the walkthrough, red flags began to appear. Kesha wanted to set up (white) table linens and plates (that people would be eating off of) the night before at our outdoor venue. While the venue has a tent, there are no walls or a door. That was not something I was willing to have for our guests. She kept discussing this because she said it was important to reduce things that needed to be done the day of. It’s important to note that our cocktail hour didn’t begin until 4 and dinner was scheduled for 5:30. Having access to the venue at 9 am provides plenty

As a wedding venue, we had the pleasure of working with DAH for a wedding. They delivered an outstanding experience for us as the venue owner. Their team was professional, punctual, and incredibly easy to work with. The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding that perfect touch to our couples wedding. We highly recommend DAH to any couple looking for top-tier service and unforgettable catering!

Kesha catered an event for 28 difficult eaters - severe food allergies (gluten, nuts, citrus, lactose intolerance), vegans and meat-eaters. She nailed it! The food was SO GOOD, and carefully labeled..

Ashley, Carter, and the rest of the DaH catering staff were absolutely wonderful for our wedding! They were great communicators and always were up for any phone calls when we had any questions or concerns leading up to the wedding day. The walk through about a month before the wedding with Ashley put my mind at ease as she answered all questions and concerns and came wonderfully prepared. They had great suggestions to make our wedding day seamless. We also absolutely adored Beverly Wakefield, the Day of Coordinator through DaH. We didn't have a single hiccup on the wedding day. My family or I did not have to do any set up or break down and I didn't even have to think about anything on the day of the wedding because it was already taken care of. The food was great and the plating was so timely that our wedding timeline was surprisingly kept perfectly. Overall, we would recommend DaH to anyone who is lucky to get them on their wedding day!

Ashley, Carter, and their team were the perfect people to work with for our backyard wedding! They were so helpful with the planning process, and made our wedding feel like a breeze. The food was also incredible! They had so many wonderful options to choose from that we knew we couldn’t go wrong. We loved having fellow Crozetians help out with our Crozet wedding!

We have mixed feelings about DaH, which recently catered our wedding. I will say at the end of the day, the food and service provided by DaH on our wedding day was great and we were very relieved. Leading up to that day though, there was a lot of added stress from working with them. Our venue provided a list of caterers that we had to pick from, as they were familiar with the venue. Initially, talking with Carter, we felt he understood our desire to be as cost-effective as possible, so we went with them even though we were not able to get a tasting until the summer (just a few months before our wedding).Once we actually went to our tasting and started working with Ashley, things went downhill. We were quite underwhelmed by the tasting we were provided. The appetizers were great but everything for the main course lacked flavor, which was very concerning. She told us that it would be prepared differently on the day of, but after what we tasted, we no longer wanted it served day of. We ended up changing our entire menu and were not allowed a second tasting. We also practically begged for mashed potatoes (which was on their menu), but were denied. At that point we were locked in financially due to their contract's payment schedule. There were multiple other red flags. We had to constantly look into each specific thing we were being charged for rentals, and had to ask for multiple things to be taken off. Our guest count dropped from an expected 135 (with max of 150) down to 115 after our RSVPs came in. But even after letting them know our final guest count before their deadline, we were still charged for 150 guests for all of our rentals. There was always an excuse from them, that never seemed genuine and definitely put a bad taste in our mouths. On the day of our walk through, Ashley arrived late and had to leave early. She also told us how she was so glad they were almost done with wedding season. The way it was said felt very dismissive, as this was a very important day for us.As stated earlier, the actual day ended up being wonderful and we cannot thank the servers and cooks enough, but we would not recommmend them or use them again for a future event.

Unfortunately, our experience working with DaH was the worst out of any of our vendors. Ashley & Carter are really nice people but we did not feel they met our expectations for what you would want in a wedding caterer.Menu Creation: Generally ok except it was frustrating when Ashley refused to use kale for our caesar salad because she “wasn’t a huge fan of” it even though it was important to us.Tasting: This is supposed to be one of the most exciting parts of working with a caterer but ours left us disappointed and stressed for the actual day. We were really concerned and surprised when DaH didn’t properly prepare to have our contracted menu ready for the tasting that we had planned for weeks in advance. They made multiple substitutions with things they had on hand vs what we were expecting that made it hard to understand how it would actually taste on our day (no sauce on the steak that was supposed to have a horseradish sauce, switching out the nuts in the salad, missing sauces on apps, using blue cheese instead of goat cheese, etc). Our tasting table was in their rented kitchen area which was kind of neat but the setup was a plastic table & chairs with plastic forks/utensils/paper napkins - we thought they could’ve at least plated the food on actual plates and made it feel a little more special. The presentation of the food was also very disappointing (ex: shrimp + sausage app was just one of those cheap small white shrimps and a half of a sausage cut on a toothpick, we would’ve expected this to be grilled or at least paired with a sauce to make it look nicer and taste better for a wedding). The worst part of it was that all of the food was cold!!! Even things like the grilled bread and rice pilaf were cold and lacking salt/flavor. Ashley told us that they could make things warm on the day but we were concerned and confused why it wasn’t warm for the tasting - it was very bizarre to eat a cold wedding dinner.Food: We ended up not being able to have our wedding as originally planned so we can’t speak to how it would’ve tasted on the day but from our tasting, the food was very much just OK. We wouldn’t have wanted to serve the food we had at our tasting to our guests. When we had to change our wedding plans, we were met with kindness and flexibility from all our other vendors but did not receive the same treatment from DaH. Be cautious. If we could go back and do it again, we would choose another vendor. We read so many raving reviews but our experience did not match up to a 5 star review by any means. We wanted to share this insight so future couples can make an informed decision.

We loved working with Ashley and Carter. From the very first phone call, they put me at ease with their warmth, expertise, sense of humor, and attention to detail. They helped coordinate with other vendors and stayed in close communication with us throughout the entire planning process. The food was excellent and executed flawlessly. Hire DAH if you can!

Ashley and Carter are such good people and fun to work with! The food at our wedding was great (get the bruschetta!) and their staff was unbelievable. I am so thankful to all of their waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff that helped my wedding run smoothly despite the rain! Ashley worked hard for me throughout our planning process to help me save money where I could, but was also always honest with me when things were “worth it.” I changed the menu multiple times and she was always accommodating and kind about it. Great team all around, I highly recommend them!

We just had our 2 year reception after an early-covid marriage and I am still on cloud nine from how perfect DaH helped make our day. We hosted about 150 people. The food was fantastic and folks consistently tell me how smoothly the day went and how great the service was. From start (3 years ago...!) to finish, Ashley and Carter were responsive, knowledgeable, flexible, and kind about not only the food but rentals, alcohol, setup, layout, etc! Their established rapport with other professionals like rental companies and coordinators made everything seamless and easy. On the day of the reception, despite some classic Virginia spring rain, everything was stunning and executed perfectly. Ashley and Carter made what could have been an exhausting three years of wedding planning feel relaxed and fun, and we'd do it all over again if we could.

We loved working with DaH catering! They were extremely responsive, gave us lots of options, and were very open to working with us on any changes or personalizations we were looking for. Everyone told us that they really enjoyed their meals, and we had more than enough of everything to go around - which is exactly what we wanted! The catering and bartending staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the entire evening. We would happily work with DaH again and recommend them to others.

Working with DaH for our wedding was a dream from start to finish! Ashley and Carter were professional, responsive, and lovely to work with in the lead up to our big day. They walked us through the whole process including what we needed to know, what decisions we needed to make, and when we needed to make those decisions. I also appreciate that they partner with a company that provides equally-excellent service and high-quality rentals. Once we said “yes,” everything was smooth with planning. We couldn't have been happier with how things went on the day of our wedding. The cuisine was outstanding and the service was excellent. We appreciated the variety of dishes that DaH offers, and were very pleased with our final menu choices. Each dish was fresh, delicious, and memorable. In terms of logistics, the whole event went smoothly and seamlessly, a huge credit to the DaH team orchestrating things from behind the scenes. I would absolutely work with DaH for future events, small (like ours was) or large. Thank you again, Ashley and Carter!
