Came as part of a group of four and everyone left with their stomachs full. The ribs were incredible, as well as my sides. The rest of my group said they had the best fried chicken in years. The dinners come in good sizes and are great soul food. I will definitely be coming back!

I stumbled upon this new restaurant while waiting for my takeout from another restaurant. There are ice cream desserts advertised outside the restaurant and on the windows.Inside I saw that it is so much more than an ice cream shop. Since I already had my dinner I picked up some ice cream sandwiches to go. I suspect the real treat is the delicious smelling, down home cooking, soul food. I grabbed a menu to take with me because I know I’ll be back.Looking through the menu I see fried chicken, catfish, beef & pork ribs, mac & cheese, collard greens, mashed potatoes, baked beans, kale. This is just a small sample of what’s available. They must have daily specials as well because I saw chicken & waffles on the sign outside but I don’t see them in the menu.P.S. I had my husband read my review and he pointed out that I didn’t review anything, and he said it sounds like I work there. I work at UVA Medical Center and I wanted to review what I saw and smelled so other people can check this place out and have an idea what this place offers ( I couldn’t find a website).As far as the ice cream sandwich, it is average but the chocolate chip cookies are good. The ice cream is soft serve and you have a choice of vanilla, chocolate and swirl. They offer a large selection of toppings to add to your cup or cone of ice cream.

We were in town for a wedding, and was looking for someplace to have lunch. We stumbled upon a jewel. If your grandmother's in heaven and you long for old-school cooking like hers, visit this restaurant. DeJua is more than just a name. The food here is delicious and the smoothies are a dream. We will revisit soon. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Yum yum, the fried chicken and the whiting sandwich was amazing.We topped it off with some sweet potato and peach pie that was out of this world.I know where I am getting pies to take to Thanksgiving dinner now!
