Very nice little restaurant located in Pantops in Charlottesville. The owner is welcoming, polite, pleasant, and eager to please. We had 2 lunches there during our trip on separate days. I had a cheeseburger and chef salad, and my mom ordered a BLT, and on the second visit, she ordered scrambled eggs and toast. Everything that we tried was very good, and the portions were large. If you are looking for a home cooked meal in Charlottesville, then I would highly recommend DOODLES DINER!

Very rude. Don’t break down and park in the restaurant parking lot. This lady’s car broke down in parking lot, she had a tow truck otw, a tow truck came and lifted her car up. she thought it was the truck she called till the fellow she called pulled up a minute later. but the very rude lady who called the tow truck came out cussing at the girls car she tried to get towed. She was going to go in and give them business and get coffee and food but the lady who worked there was just so rude. I mean here car broke down? Be fr. And had a tow truck otw. Worker must have had a terrible morning because why?

First, my apologies for gate keeping this wonderful diner. Wow, service and staff A+,Atmosphere and cleanliness A+ and the food A+. Reminds me of the family run diners where the family is actually running the establishment and cares about it too. Oh and my oh my, the food. From the sandwich to wrap, they were each done to perfection. Crisp lettuce, tomatoes that were mealy, and not over doing the mayo was key. Their onion rings and fries were cooked to hot and crispy deliciousness, not soggy or greasy.

Just ate a late lunch. Wonderful Diner food with plenty of menu choices. ? Definitely give them a try. The staff is awesome.
I've been here twice with my mother and we both enjoyed it very much. The food was made to order and super fresh. Are waitress was awesome and the manager walks around checking on everything often. Overall great experience and we will be back.

Our waitress Kim has taken over as manager and she has been doing an incredible job of coming up with new specials and making sure all our ingredients are fresh daily. We offer fresh soups daily and homemade desserts. If you've had a bad experience in the past, I say give us a try again. I have been here several times and normally everything I order is great. But this past Friday the food was off. It wasn’t the same people cooking as before. My Aunt asked for extra meat on her Reuben and the lady cooking rudely stated, “She will get what we got.” My steak and cheese was half the size than normal and the onion rings were oily and soggy. The sausage and potato soup was the only good thing. I don’t know what’s going on but they need to bring the old staff back. They were way more friendly and the food was better.
