Multi decade great value restaurant, pressing forward with new Owner. Still a classic Albemarle County goto! The "white table cloth" places are dying...so nice to see Duner's keeping this. Nice wine list without being overwhelmed, and fun craft cocktails. If having dessert, go with the recommended dessert wine pairing.
First time back in a very long time. Food is still outstanding, service and ambience are great also. So glad to see a restaurant that keeps doing it the right way for 30 or 40+ years.
As usual, the non-vegetarian dishes were very good, but they seem to always be very limited options for vegetarians. The desserts were good.

I enjoyed the sweetbreads and the bacon wrapped monkfish. The fresh bread and local butter are worth the trip.
Food was very good. The only thing I didn't care for was the blue cheese dressing. It was very watery.
Best restaurant in C'ville. If you have overlooked this great place then you have missed out on some excellent food and service.
This is a family owned business- local icon for years that was recommended to us! Did not disappoint on any level! A must if you are in the Charlottesville area. The menu changes weekly.
We had a birthday dinner with 14 people. Reservation was 7. We were there until 1030. Took 2 hrs+ to get food. The pork belly was the best I've ever had along with the bok choy and noodles. Medium rare ahi tuna wasn't seared and was well done. Pork chops were too salty to eat. The pesto pasta was way too salty. Our waitress was friendly but didn't have an opportunity to request another glass of wine or a cocktail. The room was so loud we couldn't communicate. I realize it was a big group but if you aren't equipped don't give a reservation. We spent 1000$ and expected more service

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here, and the food was wonderful! They had a little bit of a delay in preparing our table but promptly and proactively provided us sparkling wine for while we waited. I loved everything we ordered, and we very much look forward to coming back soon.

Im always looking for a place to take friends/family when they come visit, think I found it.
Where to begin, an absolutely comforting and elegant dinner experience from the moment you walk in. Kat was our waitress, super knowledgeable with excellent service skills. Everything she recommended including the desserts were immaculate. Our Somm was so great and taught us so much, dropped factoids in and making the wine experience fun.
Musts:
- the fried quail was phenomenal, first time having quail and it was just out of this world.
- can vouch for the strip, tuna, tenderloin, & duck. Haven’t tried the rest but based on how good the entree’s we did try were, you can’t go wrong.
- coconut cake is the best way to end the night.

The food, service and ambiance were all wonderful! Bonus - - The bartender graciously made us dessert drinks that were not on the menu.
My first time at Duners as we are new to the area and it certainly won't be my last. We were celebrating my birthday with our long time friends and thanks to you we experienced a most relaxing and beautiful evening✨ The food was fresh and delicious, created and served with love and care. Thank you, looking forward to seeing you again soon.
We normally enjoy this restaurant. This time I was overall disappointed.. Their “new addition’” space was tacky, evident by the plastic, walls, uneven floors and electric cords we walked through to be seated in a room that felt like second class. Despite the carrot soup and rockfish tostada being delicious, our other dishes were lacking in flavor and presentation. Our server seemed overwhelmed with possibly too many tables..
Bottom line the quality has gone down at this restaurant and I don’t think it would spend money here again, despite being a local favorite.
