FIREFLY Restaurant + Game Room

This place has a lot going for it. They have seating outside on a deck and more outback in a patio area with picnic tables. The food is good, and I recommend the hamburger. I do wish they had regular fries in addition to tater tots.

One of the most unique aspects is their level of pet friendliness. The waitress brought us out a bowl of water, and they even have a menu just for pets. Kaia Blue recommends the grilled chicken.

The game room was a nice touch with a mix of a few retro games and a decent selection of newer pinball games. I do wish the pinball games were a bit cheaper, say 50 cents and not a dollar, to keep the fun going longer, and get more people playing.

Stopped by just for waters after a walk along the Rivanna River nearby on a really hot day and just wanted to say that the staff was unbelievably friendly and welcoming even though we just needed basic hydration. We took a look around the place and it has a small but great set of pinball games and retro arcade machines, plus a decent library of board games. If I lived locally I would definitely hang out here all the time!

My husband and I stopped through on our way out of town after visiting Monticello and we are so glad we did! Service was great, everyone is super nice! Our food was awesome, we really enjoyed the smoked chicken sandwich, the chicken Philly, and definitely the mac and cheese! The drinks were great as well and we really appreciated the patio for our pups.

Firefly is awesome. Great vegan options, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff. The arcade games are pretty cheap, and board games are free.

Great for families with gamer kids 😃

Man this was a place I wanted to like, first of all most games are a dollar a play but that’s not a deal breaker nowadays and they have some board games for free. But first of all my tator tots came out cold and then my daughter’s burger was medium at best. For one the customer should be asked how they want their burger which my daughter most certainly did not want medium, and this is not a big patty by any means so they just were in a rush to under cook. As it was early and not busy I would hate to see the food when they are busy. It did get more busy as we were leaving 😬. Good news is they can fix their cooking, seems like a simple fix to actually cook food as long as they should. Ambiance is not bad at all. PS we did not get sick luckily.

Vegetarian options: I got a mushroom Philly melt and I do know they have some other options.

The arcade set-up and bingo night are great editions to the overall atmosphere. However, the service was simply okay, employees did not seem particularly enthusiastic about being present, and the waitress wasn't particularly attentive to our party. Food was okay; lots of potential for the location, but not somewhere I would come back and spend money at currently.

I love the place and the staff is super nice. But we waited forever for our food and my fish was burned. Maybe it was a bad night. Still I think it's a great place. It was bingo night. Real fun!

We arrived at 1:15 PM to a half full restaurant. The noise level was high from the live band, making it hard to enjoy a conversation. The acoustics are something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter spot.

Service was friendly, but we had to go find our server three times for updates on our food. Ten minutes before their 3 PM closing time, our order still hadn’t arrived after ordering 90 minutes prior and we eventually decided to leave. For those on a schedule or looking for something kid-friendly, this could be a factor to consider.

Seems the employees bring their children who LOUDLY play games. It was so noisy we could hardly hear each other. Kids were behind the bar!! Is that legal? They werent serving behind the bar. But my group seems to want to go there. So it is what it is.
