Perhaps it's not fair to judge a restaurant by their lunch menu, but it is food that they serve: while the waitress was very nice and the facility seemed clean (enough), the food all seemed a bit generic Chinese. While I wouldn't rule out going back for dinner, I'm not sure I'd prioritize it either. Still, you'll leave filled if not a bit underwhelmed.
Gingko is a chinese restaurant on UVa the corner. The service can be little slow because there is only 1-2 people there. But you know it's authentic because lots of Asian people including me enjoy the food.
I wasn’t expecting to find good Chibese food in Charlottesville, but Ginkgo is worth a visit especially if you like Sichuan. The Sichuan spicy beef pot (photo) was great, as were the baby bok choy which must have been cooked in a light chicken broth. I didn’t try the eggplant but my dining mate said it was very good. The shredded pork and tofu was just ok. Surprisingly, the rice wasn’t that good. The dumpling appetizer was OK, but didn’t seem to have much chili oil (as...
