Very nice bakery with delicious options and amazing fresh bread! Lots of sitting space and there is a kids corner too. Everyone was super friendly and greeted me when I came in. Very good hospitality! Will definitely go back!

The owners (I think they were the owners, or just very passionate staff) are beyond kind and stuffed us with delicious samples while we waited for our sandwiches! They seem very passionate about their baking and were explaining the different options to us.
The sandwiches were very healthy. I eat vegetarian so I opted to get one of their hot grilled cheese without turkey, so the person making my sandwich kindly added extra veggies since I wasn’t getting turkey.
The baked goods are all very freshly made (you can see them making fresh breads). I highly recommend coming here, especially if you run on the Butterfly Greenway, this is a nice stop afterwards for food.

We absolutely LOVE Great Harvest in C’Ville! Every time we visit they’ve got amazing free samples and we always end up getting a new loaf of bread, sandwich or sweet treat. The staff is super friendly and they offer great recommendations on how to enjoy our bread even more at home. The cinnamon chip French toast was a game changer!

The muffins are good but nothing special. The bread is too dense including some of the scones. also the cinnamon rolls are dry and lacking flavor. Overall not the experience you get from other places.

I was hopeful - pimento cheese was not good at all. The grated cheese was dry, crumbly. The turkey slices were dripping wet on the bland turkey sandwich. The berry scone was the best part of our order. They shorted me the harvest bar - not sure if I'll go back to ask for it. I ended up making lunch for us as our $40 worth of Great Harvest sandwiches went straight in the trash.

My roast beef sandwich was delicious… a few things to make it amazing. More horseradish sauce on the sandwich or a extra serving on the side. I ordered and paid for extra roast beef… when I got my sandwich I thought if I didn’t get and pay for extra meat it would be very disappointing. Perhaps add something extra for no charge like a bag of chips or cookie because $21 for a sandwich and a soda was a lot
Awesome place! Great food, great service. Prepare for delicious smells! You are immediately greeted by the smell of fresh bread, and a grand welcome from their kind staff. I made a mistake by ordering a sandwich with a food I cannot eat, and the staff/owners did not hesitate to correct my mistake. I am so thankful!! Definitely stop in on your next visit for a yummy pastry, sandwich or a loaf of bread for tomorrow's lunch! We plan to come back the next time we are in the area :)

Very welcoming employees! The baker was very proud of his 2 breads that just came out of the oven. One was jalapeño cheddar! We love jalapeño cheddar bagels and jalapeno poppers, so we bought a loaf. The loaf itself was huge. The presentation was quite pretty with a jalapeño carefully baked on top. And the taste was fabulous. It has a brioche texture and toasted beautifully. we had it with cream cheese or butter- yum.
I debated about writing this but after several weeks I decided to go ahead because this really upset me. I asked owner, Aileen, for small cocktail cheese wafers that I’d bought there twice previously. She said they’d never had that. I said, “But I did get it here.” On it went with her denying. I assured her I didn’t dream it up! I said it was so good I came back twice! I kept saying, calmly, said ..”But I did buy it here.” She then said, “That’s a lie.” Unbelievable! I immediately walked out. I was so upset I neglected to mention to her that the 2nd time I bought this item she was the one who found it for me on the table by window!! I’ve lived in Cville all my life and have never had a business owner call me a liar! I have never been treated so rudely in any business. Advice: do not interact with her or have any problem whatsoever. As you will see from these reviews she is always defensive.
Bread well done...fresh, healthy ingredients. Unique flavor profiles.
The young lady who helped me was so sweet, not sure about the older lady there ,if she was the owner or not. She could have been having a bad day, she was very abrupt and standoffish. The sandwich I ordered was worng but the cookies were delicious. Would I go back most likely not. We all have bad days but when you work with the public, you put a smile on and treat your customers with respect. As my late grandfather use to say, Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Even though she was not up to pare I still smiled and treated her the way I would want to be.
If you are anywhere near Charlottesville VA, you should stop at the Great Harvest Bread Co. They are so much more than a “bakery”. They actually mill their own flour and wheat on a mill stone (from wheat berries so it’s as fresh as it can possibly be ) so the consumer gets the cleanest and freshest products possible. The 100% whole grain oatmeal cookies are worth every cent. You won’t find better. The raspberry cream cheese scuffin is also a must. The Monkey bread is in a tin, you just pull off the plastic, put it in the oven and devour the results. If you don’t stop in here, you’ll regret it.
