Harvest Moon Catering

Harvest Moon did a wonderful job catering our 50th wedding anniversary celebration where we shared champagne with a very few friends and dinner with our family. From our first contact to the last dish washed and carried away, we were satisfied. The planning was easy because the two people with whom we worked were professional and responsive. The champagne cocktail hour went perfectly, with delicious hors d'oeuvres and generous pouring of bubbly. Dinner was beautiful and so nicely served. The staff, from captain to servers, was gracious, friendly, utterly competent and confidence-inspiring. We highly recommend Harvest Moon.

We used Harvest Moon Catering for our daughter's bat mitzvah and had a great experience! They were flexible with us in adjusting the menu to meet our needs and patiently answered all our questions. The food itself was delicious and the event itself went very smoothly. Everyone on the catering team was friendly and responsive, and we would highly recommend them.

We loved working with Sammi from Harvest Moon Catering for our wedding at Keswick Vineyards. From our first conversation, she was thoughtful, flexible, and genuinely excited to help us create a menu that felt personal and meaningful.

She helped us design a menu that beautifully reflected our backgrounds: highlighting our shared New England roots, incorporating touches of my French heritage, and seamlessly accommodating a massive cheese spread that we provided ourselves. It felt like us, and our guests raved about the food all night.

Sammi was also a total pro on the day of the wedding, coordinating with our planner and other vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly. We felt so well taken care of, and we’re so grateful to her and the whole Harvest Moon team for helping make the day delicious and stress-free.

We've used Harvest Moon for several events now, and every time has been a wonderful experience. The food is always absolutely delicious, the presentation is beautiful, and the service is consistently professional and friendly.

They’re a joy to work with - everything runs smoothly from start to finish, and I always feel like we’re in great hands. Highly recommend for any event where you want to impress your guests and actually enjoy the day yourself!

Harvest Moon was probably the vendor my husband and I were most excited to book. We read the reviews, they were on our venue's recommendation list, and they seemed to propose a price that sat right in the middle. We scheduled a tasting and were impressed by the quality of food. Unfortunately it all went downhill afterwards. We worked with Becky and quickly noticed how slow she was to respond to our questions after we'd booked them - it was a total 180 from when we initially communicated with her prior to booking. We also noticed how drastically different her communication style was compared to another person on their team (Sammi) who was working with my best friend. Due to this, we asked who I presume to be the owner (Mark) to switch our day of POC. He let us know it wasn't possible but assured us everything would go well on our wedding day and that he'd even try and stop by (which of course didn't happen). Everything did not go well on our wedding day - Google is limiting me to how long character count is but check out my review on WeddingWire and the Knot that included all of the bad details - in summary, the staff fought in front of our guests, the food was not what we tasted during our tasting, I was given a dirty fork, the one culturally traditional things I asked Becky to do she didn't, etc.

If you go with them make sure you have a planner that is on top of their stuff that you can trust in case you experience something similar. I am SO disappointed by this vendor and the quality of service they provided - truly the one black spot on our wedding day.

Harvest Moon Catering was soooooo good! They were easy to work with and every single thing we tried was phenomenal, even the days after! On the day of the wedding, everyone was super nice! We had one of their team members assigned to us the entire day (I can't remember his name - curly hair), but he was awesome! Everyone loved him! He was friendly and vibrant, making the food experience even more memorable!

Don and I are a bit delayed in reaching out to you, and we apologize. You catered our rehearsal dinner in November 2024, at our home in Nellysford. When I left the house to go to the wedding venue, I was a bit nervous. Nothing was really done how I wanted it, and my sister was left behind to try and pull it all together. I could not worry about it as I had to leave and get dressed for the rehearsal dinner. When I returned to the house and walked inside, I was completely stunned. The house was transformed by you and your team and was absolutely beautiful. You came in and took control, and I could not have been more pleased. I know Don felt the same. I was in complete shock!!!! You worked so hard. The food was absolutely delicious. Again, I was shocked at how the food was so good and your staff was just incredible. They did not stop moving for one minute. It was so nice to have them ensuring that guests had what they needed and continuously cleaning. The kitchen was spotless when they left. I did have concerns hosting the dinner at our home because, as the bride, I did not want to have the responsibility of cleaning up after the guests, and I did not want any of our guests to help clean. You did it all!!! I felt like the evening was magical!! Thank you for making it so special. We will definitely call you in the future for any other events.

Superb catering, food, service and professional

Awesome catering company! Had a wonderful tasting as we look for a catering company for our daughter's wedding. Hard to narrow down the food choices!

We used Harvest Moon for our wedding this past November and I have nothing but great thing to say! Sammi was a dream to work with and was a HUGE help. Sammi went above and beyond to make sure the details were all correct. For example, she folded all of our table napkins herself to make sure they were uniform. Sammi asked my husband and I what drinks and apps we wanted immediately after our wedding and had those ready for us. Our tasting at Harvest Moon was incredible and they were very well prepared and professional. We had a hard time narrowing down choices because everything was fabulous. When our wedding planner was sick and not able to attend our appointment at MS Events, Sammi offered to come and helped with tablescape, linens, and glassware. This was not something typical or expected but goes to show the wonderful character the staff there have. The food at our wedding was delicious! Several months later, and we are still receiving compliments with many guests saying it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The attention to detail for our cocktails was also fabulous and the mixologist went above and beyond to create something special for us (the pumpkin espresso martini is still being talked about months later)! Sammi gave us her personal cell phone number and we could text at any time with questions, changes, or clarifications. Our experience with Harvest Moon was fantastic and I would recommend them to other brides in the area.

Harvest Moon’s meal and service was one of the best I’ve ever had at a wedding. Their servers were top notch and the salmon, ravioli, and bistro steak dishes were on par with the best of Charlottesville’s impressive restaurant scene. They kept the drinks flowing and didn’t give a second thought to our one off requests to make our wedding experience exactly as we’d hoped.

We had only a few minor hiccups in the planning process, as can be expected for any wedding. Communication was initially a little difficult with our point of contact as Harvest Moon’s catering schedule is so busy. They’re also on the upper end of the scale price wise for caterers in town. But at the end of the day they did an unbelievable job at Keswick Vineyards. I would strongly recommend.

This year's holiday party was once again catered by Harvest Moon Catering - to much applause and satisfied friends. Chef Alfred's duck confit appetizer is worth including. Big hit! Pork loin, same. Their catering staff is excellent, responsive, experienced and proactive. I'll book them early next year for our holiday party caterers here in Charlottesville!

Harvest Moon catered our wedding and was absolutely fantastic. They were so flexible and helped bring to life the menu we dreamed of combining a Lebanese and French inspired theme. Sammi was our Event Producer and was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend Harvest Moon to our friends and family

HM catered my sister’s wedding last night and the food was amazing! One of the servers, Maddie, was SO great and accommodating to our group. She made sure we got to try every type of hors d'oeuvres and answered any questions we had about the ingredients, etc. Thank you Maddie and thank you Harvest Moon!

Harvest Moon was fantastic! They provided some of the best wedding food we've ever had, our guests raved over the appetizers, and the bartenders kept our guests cups full the entire night. They also provided quick and effective service to allow guests to get to the dancefloor quickly!
