Where do I begin... I was referred to Harvest Moon by a friend in the culinary industry when I was planning my mother's Celebration of Life. From the moment of inquiry-- I was sold on this team. They were attentive, compassionate (during a time like this, I needed all the grace I could get!), and professional. They truly exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond for me and my family. I am in the wedding industry as well and I see a lot of caterers, but only a select few meet the standards that Harvest Moon delivers. They delivered a quick turnaround on a customized menu, with my mom's favorite desserts, curated a one of a kind bar menu, including my mom's favorite, mocktails! I could seriously go on and on...The entire team was high end, elevated, and delivered nothing but perfection. Hire them! Cameron and Anne, thank you for all that you did. It truly meant the world to me and my family, and I know my mama was proud! Hugs from Colorado!

Harvest Moon Catering is amazing. We contacted them only 2 weeks before a small home based party (25 guests). They were quickly responsive, professional and very nice. They have GREAT food--all the guests commented on the quality, variety and wonderful tastes. They arrived on time, were very efficient in their set up-many small touches such as flowers and pretty garnishes were appreciated. Overall the presentation was beautiful. The lead server was smart, professional and kind. They kept the food flowing, cleared as needed and they cleaned up meticulously at the end of the evening.Great food, great service at a very reasonable price.We certainly will work with them down the road.They are an old C'ville business that has thrived--because they do it right, they understand quality and service.

Mark and his team at Harvest Moon did such a great job for our wedding this past October.The food was amazing.We had a rather large cocktail hour with a few food stations as well as canapes. Everything tasted delicious and was very similar to what we had at the initial tasting. Furthermore, if anything at the stations were running low, there was always someone there to take care of it.The signature cocktail was a big hit. Excellent taste and presentation. The bartenders in general did a really nice job the entire night.The dinners were delicious and well presented. We had a steak, Salmon, and a vegan eggplant option for our guests.I really like how Mark uses the sous vide method for the steak, then uses high heat at the venue for a nice crust while maintaining a nice medium - medium rare internal temperature.The salmon was great. Nice crust with a flaky interior and a bright citrus pop.We didn't taste the eggplant dish during our initial tasting, so we weren't sure what to expect. But like everything else, it was fantastic. I honestly think anything you try from HMC is going to be great.I do need to give the staff a lot of credit. They set everything up and broke everything down afterwards. These are two things that we were so happy we didn't have to think about. The service during the reception was spot on as well.Overall, I would recommend anyone getting married in the Cville area to go in for a tasting and see for yourself. You may find that there are cheaper caterers, but I really don't think you can beat the value that HMC provides.Mark and his team are professionals and were a pleasure to work with. Going with HMC was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

Planning a menu for a backyard wedding in rural Virginia is no easy feat, but Harvest Moon certainly makes it look easy. The food is so incredible, and tasted just as delicious and fresh on our wedding day as it did during our tasting nearly a year earlier. We loved all of the optionality in creating our menu, and their ability to cater to certain dietary restrictions. We still crave some of our wedding day menu, that's how good the food is. In close partnership with their beverage director, we loved picking out local beers and wines that paired perfectly with our menu. We also engaged Harvest Moon for day-of coordination services, which was the biggest relief in our day. Kylie is a lifesaver, and her tip-top organization and wonderful spirit made our pre-planning and day-of a total breeze. We always knew she had our backs. Especially in coordinating vendors to a rural area, which can come with its own challenges, Kylie and the whole Harvest Moon team never lost sight of a single detail. With curveballs like rain and last-minute tent calls, Kylie and the whole Harvest Moon crew were utterly professional and unflappable. We would have been lost without them! Our wedding day remains one of the happiest in our lives, in large part due to Harvest Moon's professionalism, care, and excellent service. If I had to do our wedding all over again, I would pick Harvest Moon again and again!

They are responsive, very nice to deal with and were very accommodating related to our budget and health & dietary restrictions. The food quantity and quality exceeded our high expectations. They got many parts of our wedding catering wrong including all the special meals, our cheese board was missing most of the components, and they got us different desserts than we had asked for, among other things. Their staff kept quitting and we had three different coordinators. They didn’t handle what was done incorrectly gracefully and denied that they had done things wrong.

Anne and the HMC team were extremely responsive throughout the entire planning process. Editing and adjusting multiple proposals for us to select from which is what you need when planning such a massive event. We highly recommend opting for the menu tasting, it gave us the opportunity to adjust flavors and provide feedback on the food. It was clear from that one tasting Anne meticulously relayed our comments to her team and they were applied to our reception.When you hire HMC you are paying for a level of detail that other vendors will simply miss.A big thanks to Anne and her team at HMC!

The food was delicious and the service was amazing! I especially appreciated the staff's attention to details, like having a plate of the appetizers on the head table, bringing us a variety of food during dinner, and sending us home with a late night snack. All of our guests were very complimentary of the food and service as well. I booked this company for my wedding a week ago. Kylie was the coordinator, I will say that they do a great job at sales pitching. I saw a couple of other posts that mentioned this, but once they get your money, that is where it ends. Of all the people I thought I would have an issue with, I did not expect it to be the catering team. On the day of my wedding a different person named Anne was present, and her presence, engagement and interactions were aggressive, antagonizing, intimidating and her inability to leave her personal and racial biases at home, really created a lot of social and atmospheric tension. Both my guests and the venue staff expressed concerns about comments she was overheard making. We all have biases, culturally different views and experiences, but when I am paying for a service I expect all that nonsense to be left at home so that professional service can be provided. She was there for about maybe 2 hours but the damage was already done. I was also asked to rent a generator, Kylie said there would be a definite need for a generator not a potential need. HM never touched the generator or the four 20 amp hook ups that I rented for almost $830. The entire experience really makes me sad, but I can’t go back. I can only share my story so other brides can learn from my experience with HM. If HM is a choice strictly for budget purposes, I would advise not making full payment until service has been provided. Have their final payment ready in the form of cashiers check, and submit it to them only after they fulfill their obligations with complete accuracy and professionalism.The owner did reach out, and has apologized. He told me to expect to expect a refund for the generator rental.

We initially loved our experience with HMC- the tasting was wonderful and they did a great job of managing the details of our wedding. Unfortunately, they clearly suffered from serious staff turnover and so did our service. We had four different event managers assigned to us at various points (two of whom left the company) and communication got very messy and details lost in some of the change overs. If it had not been for our planner, I would have felt very, very uncomfortable. The day of, things mostly went fine but it wasn’t fully smooth. The bartending team was top notch and really lovely but several guests were not served the right meals (including us). Two at our head table had allergy / religious food restrictions that weren’t noted (and ended up getting served the wrong food) and one of the three main dishes on guests' plates was massively undercooked (the vegetable pave). We also heard our families had to ask for cake to be served several times in order to receive any. It was a real departure from what we were expecting from the initial experience.
