Himalayan Fusion is a must if you're in Charlottesville! They offer both Indian and Nepali dishes, everything cooked to perfection without the use of seed oils. The food is absolutely delicious and fairly priced, upon request you can tweak any of the dishes to get the authentic Nepali version, having been to Nepal, eating at Himalayan Fusion sent me straight back. The owner Tenzin is incredibly nice and passionate about the food he has to offer, and the service is incredible. If you want some delicious food don't hesitate to stop by!

We ordered To-Go for Chawmein, vegie pakora and chicken chilli while I was in town. I was extremely disappointed to see the quality, size and amount of pakora, 6 tiny size over-fried (burnt/charred) pakoras for $9, see picture below. The chowmein tasted nothing like authentic chowmien and no one in my family liked it. The chicken chilli was the only acceptable item, but still wasn't great. Would not recommend.
Great Ambience and even better food. This place has my heart for being one of the most hospitable places in town and the super authentic flavours is what keeps bringing me back, definitely a must try while in downtown.

Have you ever found a place that was so good you wanted to keep it al to yourself? Well this is one of those places. First we were meet with the kindest of staff who made us feel like family. Second, the restaurant has a casual dinning felling with creative art on the wall and a large bar area to sit as well as tables. Last but not least is the Food. We tried all the vegetarian and no vegetarian dishes they had to offer that day and loved them all. They had only a few "spicy "dishes but they were not so hot we could not enjoy them ( we have a low spice tolerance for reference). The food was creative and so flavorful.
We ate dinner on a Friday evening, and it was full and lively, but not noisy so we could talk without yelling across the table. The owner came to our table and greeted us, and made several appetizer and dinner suggestions, and we ordered multiple of each of vegetarian and with meat, but unfortunately did not write down the names. However, we loved every dish. We frequently eat Indian, and this was as flavorful but not as rich so we didn't feel overly full the next morning as we usually do. The owner and the staff were very inviting, and patiently explained the difference in their cuisine and that of India. We've never had service as friendly and patient with the other cuisine, a big plus for us as we're very inquisitive. We give ambience, food and service all 5 stars. Location: it's at the mall which comes with it's own entertainment.
Soft reopening today after a remodel. The new owner and all working today were super friendly and welcoming. They are buffet only right now but are planning to expand the menu as they try new recipes.
The food was good. Not as much spice as I like but still tasty. They are not using dyes or processed oils. A good variety of choices. Tandoor chicken, chicken tilla masala, bhindi masala, chana masala, aloo Gobi, rice pudding, and mango salad.
Definitely give them a try!

Sad by the closure of this fabulous lunch buffet. May the old owners enjoy their time with their son.

Loved this restaurant for its ambiance, its food & the enthusiasm & caring of its owner, Priti (she may have pronounced her name Briti, so I apologize if I am wrong). On a bone-chilling cold day this month, we were glad to find warmth in colorful wall art, pillows, lunch buffet dishes & a nice conversation with Priti, who emigrated from Nepal when she was 17, lived in Washington, DC & came to Charlottesville with her husband. She asks each customer if they are enjoying their meal & checks in on customers that you can tell from the conversation that they are regulars & that personal attention is rare these days in restaurants. Lunch buffet dishes run the gamut of Indian, Nepalese & even a bit of Chinese; all good & served in frequently refilled & lovely copper-colored chafing dishes. I even got a wave & a smile from the gentlemen working in the see-through kitchen as they prepared naan after naan. There is a full bar & bar seating, wall murals both colorful, funky & one of them even a little scary. Seating is on chairs & wall benches with long cushions & many pillows. Very comfy. The cardamom-inflected milky chai tea & milled wheat with sugar (Suji Halwa) were the perfect ending before we went back out to brave the cold.
Love the food usually. But drove an hour and they are not open at stated open times.

Yum buffet for lunch
Amazing service and fantastic food. Extra spicy please!
Good selection of Indian dishes with vegan options marked on the menu.
Can accommodate gluten free as well.
This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The chicken tikka masala was literally watered flavor curry. They forgot several food items and drinks. The chicken momo dumplings was store bought.
This woulda been ok if the price was good, but it was spendy.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place.
Beautiful, fair prices, delicious food, kind service that makes you feel at home. Highly recommend.
