Avoid. Stayed here for a local wedding. 5th floor. Average pricing per night. Room smelled like mold/mildew. Obviously b/c there's no exhaust fan for bathroom humidity. Left the AC off. Would recommend trying elsewhere. The place was full.

I rarely leave reviews, but let me say the steak dinner I had at their in house restaurant was better than some I've had at $100.00+ steak houses.

Bad hotel. Lots of noise from the elevators and vending and ice machines. Unprofessional service. It is well located, as it is close to US 64, UVA and downtown
Rooms: Lots of external noise
Noteworthy details: Old hotel. There is no breakfast included in the rate and it is a la carte

The ventilation/ hvac system must not be working properly. No matter how we set the thermostat, the room felt humid and the carpet had a damp feeling to it. The windows were disgustingly dirty. There was a restaurant in the hotel which was a nice option, however it did not open on time and we had to wait quite a while for our meal. Only a few guests were there to eat…hmmm- maybe we should have taken that as a hint. A disappointing stay.

It served it's purpose. I wasn't amazed, but it was fine. 1 elevator was broken the whole time we were there, but that's a minor inconvenience.
Staff was friendly. There's a restaurant inside that you can do breakfast and dinner. Room was basic, no issues. Location is convenient to downtown area. Is already near fast food and gas, Wegmans and some other shopping items.

One Bed was broken, one bed had metal ankle busters on the side. Told housekeeping water was pouring from the ice machine. Told me to contact maintenance. I was thinking, if you don't care, i don't care.

Older place, not dirty or in disrepair, just worn. Staff was helpful if not the friendliest. Except for that guy running the restaurant, he was great!

Bugs in room every single day, one staff member told my wife “can we wait for 10 minutes my shift is about to end and I don’t want to be here today”. Watched a woman get arrested across the street one Friday morning. Possible blood splatter on ceiling in room 310. Elevators were suspicious.

Great experience, no complaints. It meets the brand standard of what you expect from IHG/Holiday Inn Express.
Team was friendly, checkout was smooth. Breakfast was very good.

I couldn't believe I’m writing this review right as I’m checking out. I barely got any sleep during my stay. The fire alarm went off at 6 AM, which I understand—accidents happen, and I’m glad we’re all safe. But what followed was frustrating. I tried to get more sleep afterward, but staff knocked on my door multiple times for no apparent reason.
What I really couldn’t tolerate was finding bugs crawling on the bed and in the room. I attached pictures and video, and I sincerely hope they weren’t bed bugs. If they were roaches, that’ll also be scary…This hotel urgently needs pest control. The location and decoration might be nice, but they don’t make up for the issues I experienced. I rarely write low-rating reviews, but the hotel needs to improve. This left a poor impression of the area.

They left my family stranded without a room that was already reserved. Their terrible customer service workers wouldn’t help find other accommodations.
This hotel overbooked themselves and canceled our reservations without notification. We received no call, no email. In fact the only communication we got was a confirmation on Wednesday. We were handed a managers card to call. When we called we got the guy who gave us the card who said she wasn’t in and he would transfer us to her voicemail! We are sitting in a parking lot 5 hours from home with two tired little kids and no where to go. This should be illegal.

Won't stay again. Room was loud (next to the stairwell so other guests constantly opening the door), key card had to get fixed twice (why aren't there mobile keys?) and the front desk worker said it was my fault for leaving it next to my phone (which I did not do), breakfast was terrible and the server rude and unapproachable. Extremely disappointing.

Today, August 23rd, we had a very disappointing experience at the restaurant of the hotel where we have been staying for the past five days. Since our arrival, the service had been friendly and courteous, but today everything unexpectedly changed.
We sat down at the restaurant and, after waiting for almost 20 minutes, we finally managed to speak with the waiter (they were only 5 tables occupied). We requested the menu, but his response was cold, and he completely ignored us. He told us he would bring it right away, but instead of doing so, he went into the kitchen and did not return to attend to us.
I’m not sure if this behavior was due to racial discrimination, but the truth is that we felt ignored and mistreated. It is unacceptable that after several days of positive experiences, we received such disrespectful treatment today. I am definitely not happy with what happened and hope that this is not a common practice in this place.

Nice hotel in a good location to visit Monticello. I posted a couple of pictures from Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.
A little surprised I hadn't been in a Holiday Inn that didn't provide a breakfast in the morning.
