I adore this place. Delicious pretzel, outstanding blueberry lemon bar, wonderful smoothie, excellent “fist pump” hot chocolate, and unmatched service. The mission of Kindness Cafe is also so important and so needed, and they’re truly making a difference for the Charlottesville community.

Super Yummy Chai latte and lots of beautiful faces! I tried the lemon blueberry bar on recommendation and was not disappointed! Will definitely be back!

Awesome spot! I took a day trip from Richmond to Charlottesville in large part to visit Kindness Cafe and it was well worth it. Super warm and positive atmosphere. My berry smoothie and blueberry & lemon bar were both very good and quite reasonably priced. Service was friendly and the food came out super fast! Great opportunity to support the local special needs community.

Nice new sun shaded patio area and open interior cafe space. Indeed a kind place to enjoy a good cup of Joe. Snack items somewhat small, could be beefed up but tasty. A lot too families and healthy folk as located inside the cville YMCA which is impressive.

Kudos to Katie for the inspiration and her staff for fulfilling her dream. Everything about Kindness cafe feels good. 👍👏👏👏❤️

A hidden gem in Charlottesville. You have a choice: use the Y’s extensive facility (weights, aerobic machines, indoor track & pool, etc) and then enjoy a post-workout coffee and/or baked good. Or, just come for the coffee/food and relax! Lobby area is quiet and you have a range of seating options, all illuminated by a giant wall of glass. If that isn’t enough, the Cafe’s mission is to be a nonprofit coffee shop employing adults with cognitive disabilities. Whether you’re a resident or visiting, this is a great place on a number of different levels!

The coffee is great, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is amazing. Come here for the smiling faces...your delicious coffee will feel like a bonus. The power balls are so so good!

Love the Kindness Cafe at the Brooks Family YMCA. The staff are so amazing and friendly! The food is delicious! The atmosphere is energizing and engaging!

Delightful serive with a smile! It's obvious as well that with time, the young women with special needs serving me has learned great skill and confidence. Which made my coffee that much more delicious.

Friday morning routine— grab coffee, mango smoothies, powerballs, and a visit with the Kindness staff. Love this coffee shop!
