In my opinion the best Mexican food in Charlottesville!

my husband ordered shrimp fajitas to go. I was in the hospital. When I opened the box I was very shocked. Burnt green peppers charred , shrimp & corn tortillas (was supposed to be flour); no or onions or other vegetables. There were no toppings, ie, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, nothing at all! Needless to say the fahitas went straight to the garbage. I was so disappointed and still hungry! I will never go to this restaurant again.

As a fellow Mexican-American I think this place is better than the other places around. It had good food and good margaritas. Very authentic. Even that one crying Mexican child. Now I give it 4 stars bc I’m from texas. Now if they would add a spicier salsa that would be more authentic.

Thanks to other reviewers for leading us to a fantastic meal! Tamales were excellent, esp the mole sauce. Asada is amazing. Best Quesadilla my husband has ever had. Very nice little salsa bar included. Service was friendly and fast. Just a few tables inside, and the parking is a bit confusing if you don't get a spot in the front. But any hassle is overshadowed by the delicious food!!

Just ok. Carnitas were dry, mole was not great. The tamales would have been good if not for the stringy chicken. Authentic, yes, but that does not mean very good.
Small place, interesting parking, GREAT food! The salsa bar is a nice offering. Had tacos (Mexican style) and enchiladas rancheria. Four! tacos, and a huge plate of enchiladas. House salsa is tasty, yet their hot salsa is just right!Good selection of bottled beer and mixed drinks.

Flavorful food you go back for. Stumbled upon it with a full parking lot of patrons and came back after running my errands.To sample the food I ordered a burrito with two types of proteins. While waiting I ordered quesadillas for tomorrow! Good choices! Good portion sizes and lots of protein. Their hot sauce is exactly that, too. Sadly, the burrito and quesadillas did not have the flavor I expected with some spice and seasoning.Hope to eat there again sometime soon and will ask them to spice and flavor the orders.Total for two very generous entrees was about $25. I would say the food presentation is more tradtional than corporate.Wheelchair accessibility: Not possible to bring a wheelchair in unfortunately. Not sure if they put tables out in warmer weather though.

I love this cozy little spot. It just feels like home. Everything I've eaten here so far has been amazing but the Quesadillas a la Parrilla is my favorite. Everyone working is so friendly and the food comes out so quickly. They have a salsa bar with a variety of different salsas which I love. Their passion fruit agua Fresca is amazing. There is parking right out front and some additional parking towards the back/side of the building. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Such an amazing authentic spot!
