Best Mexican restaurant in Charlottesville, hands down. It's a nice, family-owned business. It is Sinola style, so different from what most people think of Mexican restaurants, but that's what I think makes it special. Really friendly service and the food is really delicious. This is a must try if you're anywhere in the area.

Wow what an amazing authentic place! As a certified D.C. Chef i have tasted and traveled all over South America, Mexico, Spain and this place brings back the nostalgia of being in Mexico City. In comparison to El Berbedoro in downtown Charlottesville, this place is definitely a 5 star 🌟

There is a seafood menu and traditional Mexican menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. We really enjoyed the traditional Mexican food. There wasn't a kids menu but they offered pizza (frozen red baron) or chicken nuggets.

Superb Seafood Experience at El Barco Marisco!
I had an incredible dining experience at El Barco Marisco. The seafood was absolutely fresh and expertly prepared, with a fantastic variety that satisfied all my cravings. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a casual lunch or a special dinner. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always eager to ensure you have a great time. Never heard of this place until today! When you sit down it’s not your usual chips & dip when you first sit, however it’s more like a couple tostadas with some more unique sauces on the side! They have a very full (overwhelming variety) SEAFOOD menu. If you want your usual Mexican burritos, I’d recommend coming around lunch for their lunch specials! Over all very delicious, very clean, & spacious!
