I had a great time at El Barco! I got the frozen Pina Colada. Drinks are great vibes are great and service is great. Great place for drinks before going to bars!
Also the handsome gentleman in the picture IS SINGLE! ladies hit him up.

Had an absolute blast at el barco. Definitely would recommend to all. There was a guy who smelled pretty bad but otherwise had an amazing experience. Get the margarita. Here’s a picture of him.

I’m embarrassed my review is in stark contrast with the others, but my shrimp cocktail had a sweet taste and the shrimp were rubbery. There were more liquids than solids.

Today was supposed to be a day of celebration. My husband and I were on cloud nine—payday, my new job, everything felt perfect. We had everything planned out even our food order, But the moment we walked into the restaurant, the excitement quickly turned to disbelief. There were only three tables including us , and at least five servers, yet we were completely ignored. We sat there for what felt like an eternity—twenty minutes, thirty minutes—waiting in silence, no one so much as glancing our way. It was like we didn’t exist. No greeting, no drinks, nothing. I could feel the frustration bubbling up, but I kept hoping things would change. When I finally couldn’t take it anymore, I stood up to leave, empty-handed and disgusted,And then, I saw it. Every single one of those servers, sitting comfortably, completely relaxed, as if we weren’t even there. It was like a punch to the gut. I couldn’t believe it. How could they treat us like this? After all the excitement and the anticipation, we were left feeling invisible and worthless.

First time at Mariscos El Barco last night with friends. A wonderful experience! Great service and delicious meal and drinks. Extensive food menu with lots of seafood and traditional options. Ceviche and burrito were amazing along with my beautifully presented specialty margarita! We are looking forward to a return visit soon!

Best Mexican restaurant in Charlottesville, hands down. It's a nice, family-owned business. It is Sinola style, so different from what most people think of Mexican restaurants, but that's what I think makes it special. Really friendly service and the food is really delicious. This is a must try if you're anywhere in the area.

Wow what an amazing authentic place! As a certified D.C. Chef i have tasted and traveled all over South America, Mexico, Spain and this place brings back the nostalgia of being in Mexico City. In comparison to El Berbedoro in downtown Charlottesville, this place is definitely a 5 star 🌟
