Should have been a sign to stay away since nobody else was in there on a Sunday evening but my family and myself. Where to start? The scantily dressed server looked as though she wasn’t even wearing anything besides a t-shirt. My wife asked twice for some sweetener for her tea to be told “we have it” and “yes i can bring it” but then never brought it until i went and got it myself. The food tasted of old grease and an unclean griddle. The toppings were really minimal. I’d been here several years ago when the place was actually lively but it seems to have taken a turn. The tables were also sticky and dirty. They seated us in the back because my son needs a high chair. As if that even mattered when the only people coming and going in there from the time we walked in until we walked out was us!! Would love to check out the place that the five star reviews were about because where i was at last night was not it. I did tip though as a parting gesture because i can promise you my family and i won’t be back!

The service was super fast and friendly. The food is basic diner fare, and many items from the menu were no longer available. We went with the basics, aruben, a burger and fries and wing. Everything was good. Though we were disappointed that we couldn't get our first choices from the menu, what we did get was good and the service was super! If you're in need of a quick bite, and you're in Charlottesville, pop in and grab food here.

Food was great. I ordered the cheeseburger all the way and side of fried mushrooms.
Burger was like a warm hug, it was everything I wanted in a smash burger, next time I will probably get a double.
The mushrooms were cooked to perfection.
I tried some of my friends sweet potato tots and they were great.
Service was fast.
Will definitely come here again

Went to Martin's for the first time. I'm forever changed. My burger was absolutely perfect - it was what burger dreams are made of. 5/5 stars - delicious food, very reasonable pricing, and a low key, locals only atmosphere. Come hungry!
Visiting Charlottesville from out of town, and stumbled across this hidden gem! I had the Philly cheesesteak, and my friend had a double cheeseburger. We both agreed it was delicious, and the service was incredibly fast! We were in and out in under a half-hour (during lunchtime on a weekday).

Really disappointed the po boy is gone, went with a coworker we loved our previous visit but multiple items have been taken off the menu since then although they have made no effort to reprint menus, I'm not sure if ownership has changed but definitely was a let down from the previous incredibly enjoyable experiences.
I ve been here a few times, mostly the BBQ place down 29. not being told there's no American cheese long after we ordered and received fries is not cool. ruins my experience and burger.

Always good stuff at Martin's. Burgers are the best overall. The Reuben is also quite good! They are changing the menu so some items are being removed which will limit the menu choices a bit, but all the staples will still be there! Tots are always a winner!
