Always come back to Maya for the incredible cocktails. The food is excellent too, and we really enjoy the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. If you're looking for a place that is lively but still fairly low volume where you can chat easily this is the place to go. The bar is great and they have a big TV you can watch sports on if you like. Parking is easy enough with street parking if available and plenty of parking across the street in the train station parking lot. That...
Excellent menu choices. Two of us enjoyed the well-seasoned rainbow trout, the other was happy to make an entree with the choose-4-sides option. The only disappointment was the roasted broccoli: too well-done on the outside, too little on the inside. We sat in a booth in the bar area, where the atmosphere was lively (big game on TV) but not overwhelming. Conversation was easy.
Love the quiet atmosphere there, no need to scream across the table. This is a repeat visit and we were again very happy with the experience. The fried green tomatoes are a MUST and the appetizer is generous, so easy to share between 2 people. As main dishes go, the Catfish (blackened) was wonderful: perfect balance of flavors and the sherry butter was just great. The fingerlings and roast broccoli were good complements. A favorite for us in Charlottesville.
