Everything we ordered was super fresh; however, was lacking in the flavor department. The pupusa con queso was the highlight of the meal and I would definitely recommend that item.

Just had such a tasty meal here. Super authentic pupusas, and the fried plantains are amazing. The tortillas are thick and homemade... Everything was delicious. Would absolutely come back to eat again.

Wonderful pupusas, fast service, and great ambiance! We’ll be going back for sure! I also had the steak street tacos and they were awesome as well.

I grew up in Southern California and have been avoiding the tragedy that is tex-mex food for years. Mi Canton is perfection. Pupusas, plantains, tacos. All stellar!

Papusas are freaking awesome. Ask for a little hot sauce for a little extra added flavor.

What an awesome little spot for excellent Salvadorian food right in the heart of C'ville! My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch while we were in the midst of running errands and it was spot on. He got a baleada and a pupusa, I ordered pupusas, and we shared an order of platanos. I miscommunicated and ordered two pupusas too many, but it turns out they reheat wonderfully on a warm skillet. The platanos were perfectly cooked and served with beans and crema - super comfort food. The pupusas were not too heavy and had a wonderful flavor. My husband LOVED his baleada, which was filled with beans, eggs, avocado, chorizo, and queso fresco - it was such a yummy dish! The service was so warm and friendly, our bill was barely over $20, even with the extra ordering, and the food was authentic, uncomplicated, and really sustained us for the rest of the day! I'm sure everything on the menu is worth trying, so we'll have to come back for further experimentation!

Mi Canton (my home) is the only place I've ever eaten Salvadorian food. There were once 70's style large food images on the exterior windows that greeted you as you entered, giving you a good idea of what's available. They left with new management. I was welcomed graciously every time I came. The scene there is pretty cool. Always some action, be it kids dancing or a group of teens. Fun vibe. The food is the thing though. Crunchy sopas, great chips, spicy salsa, fresh papusa. My favorite dish so far is the Choripollo, a hefty plate focused on chicken and chorizo. Bring a friend, the portions are huge.
