We stopped by to celebrate Valentine's Day thinking the place would be packed but there were only a few other customers. We had our pick of seats and enjoyed the quieter atmosphere. Our food was delicious!

Update:
Don’t sale day old bbq! It was brown ! I certainly know the difference! I want a fresh butt pulled in front of me! I don’t want pork that was reheated from the day before. !!! Please don’t go down hill in quality!
Not my favorite place. I don't like how they use veterans as a marketing tool! For bbq , it's a decent commercial style bbq! The ribs were cooked the day before! They were over cooked and somewhat dry! The pork sandwich was good but a tad dry ! I added Tupelo honey bbq sauce ! The fries hot but over cooked! 19 dollars for a salad with chicken ! They run the bill up big time ! Over $47 ! They thank me for being a veteran but did not give me a discount ! This place is a scam ! I will be ready next time ! They always have a tribute for veterans at noon! Their flag is a screen shot on monitor ! Just very sad how people fall for this marketing ploy! Veterans are to be respected and cherish for their duty and sacrifices ! They should not be used to sell bbq! Missions truly don’t need this ! They can stand alone from the gimmicks!

Sides were fantastic, which is good since I paid through the nose for them. Sauces were pathetic, watery flavorless nothing that I wouod have been ashamed serving. Actual barbeque was stone cold, got a little better once warmed but still not great.

Food and portions were very good. French fries had a ton of salt. Could have used a little less salt.

This Mission BBQ location catered our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! They were easy to communicate with, delivered everything right on time, and our guests loved the food. When I mentioned that I needed to swap out the coleslaw because some guests weren’t fans (even though Mission’s coleslaw is my absolute favorite!), they kindly included a personal serving just for me in the delivery. It was such a thoughtful touch and meant so much. Fantastic service, delicious food, and truly kind people. Highly recommend!
Delicious BBQ food at an affordable price. Love the interior - very patriotic/pro-service members - reflects the ‘mission’ of this restaurant well, which is so much more than just food. Employees were kind and friendly. Restaurant was very clean. Will return.

Great environment. Food tasted great. Wife and sons first time there. My son is a picky eater and ate everything on his plate. Me and the wife got brisket. Cooked just right. We tried all the sauces on the table. Will definitely be going back.

What a remarkable experience. We entered the Lenox Avenue in Charlottesville, VA location not knowing what to expect. The first thing that was obvious is you place an order for your food from an extensive but detailed list. We were so impressed that the bbq included not only the "regular offerings," i.e., pulled pork, brisket, chicken, and your usual sides, but also turkey! Within minutes, my name was called with the filled order. The production line is so efficiednt that our four orders were filled within 5 minutes! The owner stopped by to ensure our satisfaction; and then Sean, whom I dubbed the supreme marketer, came by with samples of their new addition to the menu, smoked sausage (delicious). At exactly Noon, an announcement was made that the National Anthem would be played, and we were invited to stand and sing along. Tears actually sprang into my eyes as I felt the joy of honoring our Veterans, a daily tradition at Mission BBQ. This restaurant has four new converts to Mission BBQ.

My biggest issue is that my stomach isnt big enough to eat more!!! The brisket was phenomenal, green beans side is a must as well as the Pulled Pork & Ribs. The staff was unbelievably kind & helpful, so refreshing to have a wonderful service experience. My last gripe is that there isn't a straw to be able to drink the sauce directly!?! The KC & TX sauces were my fav... but it was basically a tie for 1a, 1b, 1c.... so good! Highly recommend, def one of my fav BBQs around the country & their mission is nothing short of heartfelt. Need more businesses like this on the planet.
