Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and professional staff! My friend and I always went for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday! Sometimes we had to wait to be seated, BUT the wait was worth it. The food was always excellent! So sorry for the closing of this restaurant! Good luck in your new endeavor! Will be visiting Boyd Tavern Deli as soon as you post you are open! Our prayers are with you! Jean Richardson Fluvanna County

An unpretentious place with very good traditional food and flavors. The French fries were delicious! Very southern vibes, with guns, hunting “rewards”, and patches from policy enforcement squads around the walls. Service was super fast and friendly. It caught my attention the number of seniors getting out and in, they may feel this place is like any good old one. Waiters even said “See you next Sunday Martha” to one of the seniors and made the place feel homey. There is parking in front.

Vegetarian options: Do not recommend it. It is a southern old school place

Dietary restrictions: It is an old-school place, so no. You will not find dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, or any other modern options

Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level, plenty of space. Warm space for people in wheelchairs or any other physical mobility restrictions

I had two hot dogs for lunch. The wieners were overcooked. Like shoe leather. There may have been a teaspoon of chili on each of the hotdogs. I was really surprised when I looked at the bill. $11.20. Needless to say I wasn’t impressed by no means.

May look sketchy but I’m glad we stayed and tried it out!
The wait time is long but so worth it once you are seated and get your meal.
I went with a group of 5 and we all got the special of the day. (Country fried steak with gravy, two eggs, potatoes and toast)
It was 10/10

I didn’t choose it - I was meeting my son and some friends and they chose it.
When pulling in I thought I must’ve been in the wrong place - is this restaurant in a car junkyard? Uh, yes, it is…
But don’t judge a book by its cover because the food, service and atmosphere is all excellent.
You’ve gotta be some kind of special to have the business they do way off the beaten path. And business they have…expect a wait on the typical busy restaurant days. I went for a Saturday brunch and they were packed with a long wait. But again, it’s worth the drive and the wait.
I’ll definitely be returning.

My husband and I were in town for an operation the next day. We went there because the serve breakfast all day. We were so excited about finding a new spot in Charlottesville.
I ordered my eggs a certain way. My husband ordered his… when our food was delivered all looked great. My husbands meal was perfect! Mine on the other hand was not. I’ve never been able to eat runny eggs. That’s what was served. I ordered my eggs OM, Over Medium, which has NO runny egg yolks but completely ‘hard’ like a hard boiled egg.
I was a cook in Blacksburg so I do Know the kitchen, been a waitress so I understand that part too.
When the waitress DID come over to ask; My husband was almost finished with his breakfast; she asked how was everything. I told her that I couldn’t eat my eggs they were too undercooked for me to eat. She offered to have them remake it but by the time those eggs would’ve come out my husband would’ve been longtime finished.
She could see by my plate that I cut into them to expose nothing but runny yolk. I did eat my English muffin.
Even though I ordered from a la cart, there was NO offer to have the bill corrected .
When we walked to the cashier, I told her about the undercooked eggs, she just said, I’m sorry. For her to correct the bill would’ve been 3.00 Back to us.
To me, $ 3.00 isn’t gonna make or break me. However, to me it’s the Principle of the issue.
Every place I’ve worked at, as a Restaurant personnel, they always wanted to work with the customer.
I guess because we had never been in there they just didn’t care and want new customers.
I will say the Grits my husband ordered were fabulous. mu husbands breakfast was fabulous. The Biscuit, Bacon, Grits and eggs a total thumbs up.
I also believe in give credit when credit is due.
Hence my praise on my husbands order.

Hope,if you are trying this place for the first time, you have a better experience than I did.

The food was disappointing I don’t know if it was between breakfast or lunch but it tasted old and dried. Please try to improve.

Food was awesome. Our waitress was the sweetest thing ever! She made sure everything was right and she was super friendly. I wish I caught her name.

The only reason I’m taking a star is because the kitchen staff was kinda rude. I don’t think they wanted to be there tbh.

Suprise find coming through the area. Unassuming spot down home feel, clearly a lical hideaway for a Sunday breakfast. Will definitely try to come back for lunch in the future.
