This was my first time at a sake brewery. The bartender did a great job explaining how sake is brewed and explaining the differences between the sakes that are made there. I highly recommend checking out this place!

Awesome food and great introduction to Sake. We even got a small tour of the place. Will definitely come again if we are ever in Charlottesville.

Having lived in Charlottesville, I LOVE this place and was so excited to bring my sister here for her bachelorette weekend! We were able to reserve a table for 10 same day and had a great experience. Thank you to Caleb for making it so fun and to everyone else as well- the food, service and of course, the sake, were incredible. 10/10!

These guys only serve food in certain windows. I don’t know what those hours are, but it needs to be broadcasted prominently. The couple of times I successfully ate here it was pretty good. Hilariously overpriced, with not so great service, but I let it go. The food largely made up for those issues. The last time I tried I was told they didn’t serve food during that period, 2:40 PM. A lot of restaurants have gaps between lunch and dinner or whatever, and that’s totally understandable. What isn’t understandable is making people walk in the doors to find that out when they’re hungry. If you have some kind of interruption in service, you need to make that extremely clear online. There’s no reason not to.This deliberate rudeness costs a couple of stars. And yes, at this point you are deliberately deceiving people who want to be your customers, as your reviews call it out. Casually glancing at it, I see two other people mentioning it over the last year.Just communicate. It’s easy.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at North American Sake Brewery, and it was absolutely perfect. We stumbled upon the brewery walking around Charlottesville one day and thought it had such a cool vibe. Then based solely off the amazingness of the sake, we decided it would be the perfect venue for our rehearsal dinner. That turned out to be a very good decision because in addition to their awesome drinks the food is AMAZING. We had a great time at our tasting, and the brewery was so accommodating in helping us personalize the event with signature drinks, our own playlist, and vegetarian/vegan selections for our guests. Robyn was incredible to work with. Everyone had an awesome time at the rehearsal dinner, and some of my friends are still raving about the food! Thank you so much North American Sake Brewery! We will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: The mushroom dumplings are one of the best things on the menu! Most vegetarian items can be made vegan.

Great ramen and mochi and dumplings!!! Delicious sake - fun to try a flight to taste different kinds. Decor is really fun too. We went for UVA parent weekend with our college age son and it was perfect. Would also be fun just with another couple. Super nice wait staff too and host. They were a bit overwhelmed with parent weekend reservations but they handled it with grace and friendliness. We will go back!

I think the folks here are really trying hard, but overall quality of food is just ok. Mushroom dumplings were really good, my Japanese curry was decent but my wife's chicken teriyaki bowl was a heap of rice with few overcooked vegetables and microscopic levels of chicken.

Best spot in Charlottesville! Our server, Joey, was amazing. He was super patient, shared how Sake was made, and introduced us to the head Sake maker! The food was delicious and ramen was better than others in the area. Loved sitting Japanese style while playing Rummikub. Would definitely recommend and go back for more!

My wife and I stopped in while we were at the Art Park and I’ve always wanted to try Sake and was not disappointed! Joey the employee helped guide us and was very passionate about his job! Definitely will be back for some more Sake!

I have dined here several times, with groups large and small, and have found the staff to be most excellent (even when stretched thin, as during our Pride Festival). All the food has been without blemish, and the variety of sake is available nowhere else locally. I am a big fan!Vegetarian options: I was in the mood for *meat* but instead ordered the vegan ramen, and it was well beyond my expectations! The smoked tofu was particularly satisfying.Dietary restrictions: Very flexible menu for vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free needs.

We had such a nice time here. The atmosphere is beautiful with lots of art to enjoy. We had a flight of the 4 house sakes and each were delicious. Our bartender was very personable. Can't wait to come back when the kitchen is open for some ramen.

Short staffed when we went. Server was up front , which we felt made our experience better being informed. The food was served timely and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend

Hidden jewel in Cville. Apparently they've been around for 5 years. Who knew? Cool vibe and delicious sake and ramen. Pork dumplings were on point as well, super tasty. We had the Nas bowl which had flavorful broth and pork belly which was awesome. Sake flight was fun and the seasonal tropi-sake was so good, had to get a bottle to go. It was a little loud on Saturday for those who are sensitive to that sort of thing, just FYI. Highly recommend!

Really cool and unique place. I had never tried sake before but I fell in love with their lemon-mint one Sweet Agony. Definitely get the sake flight, but make sure you have a ride home! During the peak of the pandemic I often did carry-out and the staff was always nice to chat to while I waited.
