Long ass lines that you wait in only to be told that you can’t buy the bread that’s lying right there.

Knowledgable and the honey sea salt latte is right on the money. Its all my favorite things about venturing out for a special coffee when i dont feel like making my usual cup at home. The apple gallette is outrageously good. It is everything apple pie wishes it was. (Everything **i** wish apple pie was). Furthermore, the staff is very knowledgable and they work in sync to make a very busy restaurant move along nice and smoothly. Literally the only thing ill tell you is if youre planning to sit down, make sure youre okay with not sitting down. The seating is limited for how busy it gets, but honestly that should tell you how great it is. Just take it to go and sit out in the mall for some good people watching and a wholesome breakfast.

I have only been to this location a handful of times however every time I go my order is always incorrect. They are smaller mistakes (i.e. my bacon, egg, and cheese didn’t have bacon) but it’s frustrating that it happens every time. The food is good however there always seems to be a sense of entitlement and annoyance with the staff. There are a lot of great, small business cafes in the area - I would recommend one of them if you want friendly service with accurate food.

Ordered dirty chai latte - undrinkable
Hand down superlative French bakery. Spectacular sandwiches chock full of fresh flavors. Turkey avocado arugula cheddar; ham apple-chutney frisee cheddar, both as sourdough panini. Wide variety of freshly baked goods including pretzel croissant must-try and other sweet or savory varieties. Lauren and colleague running the place are super nice and makes everyone feel welcome. Simply wonderful place.

Food is great.
Service is a hit and miss with certain people at the counter.
Atmosphere is terrible as it is always busy and loud...no where to sit comfortably.
High price for pastries for non-rich people.

Amazing food and baked goods. The line was very long and the place was super busy but the food is definitely worth the wait

Delicious pastries at incredible prices! We love both this small downtown location and their larger spot too.

We have been going to Charlottesville 1-2x per year for several years now. We've acquired a lot of favorite spots that we like to try and revisit as often as possible while we're there, but Petite MarieBette is the only non-negotiable. We've tried so many pastries, breakfast sandwiches, brought home loaves of bread, tried various lattes and drip coffees ... We've yet to be disappointed. Top recommendations: the pretzel croissants (I don't even really like pretzels OR croissants and it is my favorite thing they sell), petite caneles, and the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich (which can be ordered on the pretzel croissant, you're welcome)-- I do like to add salt to the eggs but wow the eggs are cooked to perfection every single time. You honestly can't go wrong. Please stay in business forever... We love you.

Excellent experience. The food was delicious and their house made pumpkin spice is the best I've ever had! This is place is an escape you come back to over and over again.

We stopped here for breakfast while on vacation. The place is cute, definitely a neighborhood favorite. We enjoyed people watching - a number of moms or dads with toddlers. The staff was very friendly and the prices fair for the food offered. Unfortunately the taste and presentation were lacking. Based on reviews we hoped for tasty dishes, but the two we selected were pretty bland. If we lived close by, this is the kind of place I would love to frequent because of the baked goods and its local neighborhood charm. And perhaps Id encourage the owner to spice up the food a bit.

I love that MarieBette Bakery has two locations, and the Frangipane Tart (along with the Quiche Lorraine) was delicious. I gonna keep coming back and taste the entire menu. Rock on MarieBette Bakery.
