February 27, 2024 - Pineapples Thai Kitchen shares a building with another eating establishment . . . Walk around to the side! The industrial ambience didn’t overshadow the delicious food! 5 o’clock dining time is early for most, we had no problem with seating or service. ? Our server Kus, arrived quickly with menus, and explained their chef specials & “ Heat scale”!We started with Melbec & Chardonnay wine, at $9 a glass. As we sipped, our crispy spring rolls arrived. My wife ordered the Bangkok Bay seafood, which included shrimp, squid, scallops, mussels, scallions, mushrooms in sweet chili sauce. . . Excellent!I tend to favor Crispy Duck ( $25) with vegetables in a spicy sauce! The ?️?️?️ spice level was perfect . . . very tender duck with crispy crust, delicious! Closer to 6 pm, more folks joined us in the restaurant. Relaxed venue.I’d highly recommend the food, our bill was $78 with 3 glasses of ? . ( worth it)Vegetarian options: Vegetarians should be pleased, Thai cuisine offers many dishes without meat ! ?

Food is adequate but pricey. Absolutely abysmal service.I ordered take out, walked in and stood at the counter where I could see my order with my name on it. I waited for 14 minutes while the three employees walked back and forth in front of me refusing to make eye contact with me. I eventually decided that I would rather just take the food than wait for them to finally get me the beer that I had ordered.

I can’t get enough of the Kao Pad Ka Pow (spicy), but we love all of the dishes at Pineapples. Most recently the Crispy Chicken with Cashew Nut, Kao Soi (beef), Gyozas (pork), Spring Rolls, and Thai Chicken Wings. I can’t recommend this place enough for Thai food.

I dined in the day before thanksgiving. I waited about 45 minutes to be served… HOWEVER, I enjoyed one of the most delicious Massaman Currys I have ever tasted!!!Dietary restrictions: They offer many vegan and vegetarian options.Parking: They share parking with Kardinal Hall, which can get very busy.

Simply amazing food and service. From many of our Thai favorite restaurants, we found Pineapple Thai amongst the top tier and were just blown away by the quality and flavors of the food. Will highly recommend. Deserves 5 Stars!

My first time trying. My boyfriend and I do some grubhub on the weekdays. We always pick up from here to deliver. We both have never tried Thai food. We’re really funny about changing up our norms because we like what we like. You know what it’s like wasting money and just not liking the food. We decided each week now we will try something new. We picked a dish with an app and shared. I am so glad we did. We got crab fried rice without tomatoes which was so yummy, but…. We also got pan friend gyoza. The pork ones… The little crisp, and the flavor… Oh my ? ?. Then the sauce you dip them in is insane! We used the left over sauce to put over top the rice. Which even kicked that up oh so yummy!!! Thank you for an amazing dinner!!! We will be back again!!! Do yourselves a favor and go try this place!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

We wanted a lunch. We didn't want crowds or noise. We had chosen this weekend to visit our adult daughter, recently moved to C'ville. We had had no idea it was UVa Parents Weekend & UVa / GaTech football...but we'd found out the night before trying to get a good dinner. Looked for nearby Thai. Pineapples popped up. Lovely, high-ceilinged (former industrial?) Space. Huge menu. Polite, helpful wait staff. Tom ka gai for me. Large bowl considering the modest price. Red & masaman curries for others. Generous servings. Tasty. What else could one ask for except to remember to return on future visits? And get to sample more from that extensive menu.

At this point, we have sampled most of the Thai places in and around Cville. This one is firmly meh in comparison. Positives: online ordering, quick service, nice enough staff (got take out so can't report on sit down service), inside appeared clean and nice, food was overall okay, prices and portions about on par with similar restaurants in area, still warm after 25 minute drive home, parkingLess Positive: MANY MANY bay leaves in our curries (I understand the purpose of bay leaves but we had to remove an unusually high amount), the chicken in the curry itself tasted bland and old, spring rolls lacked flavor, and the fresh rolls were fine. We only ended up trying here because our usual was closed, and we will likely stay with our usual place.

Went here for breakfast- tried one of the Thai style breakfast options. It was delicious! Lots of great spices and a little heat. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend trying this spot. Bonus the decor is really cute!
