Sammy's On The Corner

Great sandwiches, great service, everyone was super kind and the food was ready fast. Super delicious. I'll deffinantly be back.

Sammy is a great guy running an excellent sandwich place. As a charlottesville resident growing up it was very sad to see little johns close down like that, but if anyone had to move in there I’m glad it was Sammy. I love the authentic Philly vibes in the store and in the food

I was rather excited for Sammy's to open, but after two trips, Sammy's has been an unfortunate letdown. I ordered a meatball parm sub with a few additions (adding up to around $15 for a 10 inch sub) and it was seriously underwhelming. The meatballs were solid, but the sauce tasted like it was from Subway and the broccoli rabe was poorly cooked. The sandwich also listed parm as an ingredient, and I could not detect any parm. I also tried the cheesesteak and found the steak to be rubbery and under seasoned.

10/7/2021*** I tired them again today. 100% Better. Sandwich was juicy and had great favor. Their system is very fast. I like that in a restaurant. Changing my rating from 2 to 4.10/6/2021I really want this place to succeed but I'm not sure it will. 4 of us from the office all ordered different items. All of us had the same conclusion, very dry and overall not good. The order was ready quickly but for the price dry sandwiches are not worth it at any price.

Sammy’s was a great atmosphere on the corner of UVA. It’s in a great location with other various things to see and be close to. The food was 10/10 and the inside is absolutely gorgeous from previously before. They did a really great job! Definitely will be going back.

The place looks super nice and a well improved upgrade from what it was before. The managers and workers are also very welcoming and gave me great service. On top of this the food was great and I loved the college feeling it gave me.

Sammy’s is a welcome sight on the Corner, providing both a delicious sub/sandwich and a beautifully constructed interior that provides a little taste of Philadelphia culture in Charlottesville. Great for a quick lunch stop anytime you’re walking around Grounds or the Corner! I highly recommend it to all. Definitely give the Cheesesteak a try!

Sammy’s was awesome! It’s a newly opened restaurant on the corner and is already one of my favorite places to eat! The staff is awesome as well as the food and the interior of the restaurant itself!

Seriously amazing! We had the Little JAWN and onion rings. FIRE!!!! Even as a vegetarian sandwich it held its own. We will be back WEEKLY!My comrade had the 7'' cheese wit...He loved it. Vegetarians and meat eaters have options here....Question, what kinda animal leaves a one star reviews for a business on their first day open??? Look if anything is not what you expect it to be here or better these guys are here to help. Glad to see this place opened. This will definitely be a regular stop for me! I went in today for a classic Philly cheese steak and it was perfect, the real deal! Not your everyday sandwich.

Phenomenal! Had to try this after the disappointment of little johns. Was not let down. I’ve only had the classic cheese steak so far but it was great!

I stoped by to try a cheesesteak sandwich and it was horrible. I don’t think this will survive on the corner with horrible subs. Price is to high for us students for a basic sandwich. Steak seemed very old and frozen.
