Visited this spot for breakfast, I wouldn’t go back. While it is a family run business which shows from the “mama” being yelled out by the staff members. The food was subpar, the potatoes tasted like the oil they were cooked in. The waffle wasn’t bad, but not anything that you can’t get somewhere else. The decor and vibe reminds me of a flee market. It’s definitely a hidden hole in the wall spot that doesn’t seem to be too busy.

Unbelievable food. Honestly the best omelette I’ve had and the home fries were so flavorful. They had the kindest servers ever and the diners were also so friendly. Had multiple friendly conversations with other diners on the restaurant. Would definitely come back!

I'm sorry I didn't think I would have to leave a review I've been going to Sam's kitchen since Sam owned it is now under a new owner never had a issue until today their breakfast food is the best I had ordered the cheeseburger platter my cheeseburger was a little burnt set my waitress send it back they fixed another one apparently the owner is training a new cook so my waitress so she put in for a chicken sandwich the owner came out there's nothing wrong with the hamburger you're not going to get anything else and I'm sitting there dumbfoundead and I said well I'm not paying for the cheeseburger if you want to treat a long-standing customer like at I will not be back in my years ago when Sam owned it never had an issue maybe the owner should have cooked it maybe I'll pass the word on to my friends how the owner acted

I went with my bestie this past weekend and we had a great time. Breakfast is a favorite for us and this one is both good and won't break the bank. It's very much a casual diner but that's it's charm, personally I don't want anything pretentious. I want decent prices, good food and friendly service and that's exactly what Sam's Kitchen provides. The wait staff are so kind and friendly. They seem to actually be friends with one another too, which adds to the warm atmosphere.

I'm near Charlottesville once a year and always stop here for breakfast. They have the best sausage gravy and biscuits, and their home fries are awesome. Everything else I've had is also delicious. The staff is wonderful and attentive. Couldn't recommend this place more.
