Selvedge Brewing

Selvedge has been one of my favorite places in the Charlottesville area. The location is perfect for a nice escape from the college town vibes. Menu and beer selection is great! My favorites are the smashburger, hotdog, wings, mac n cheese, and the kale salad! Rick and the rest of the staff are friendly and simply awesome!! Oh - don’t forget to try the popsicles!! AAA+++ 👍👍

Excellent food and beers. Our server Jackson was great as well. Looking forward to coming back, its our new home bar for our dart team.

Was taking my wife to UVA Medical and she wanted a smash burger so we tried this place. Great looking bar. Had alot of character. Nicely done. Very spacious and comfy, even some couches for patrons to lounge. Food was good, not great. Got a pint with my meal and it was OK. Service was not great. I would return to this establishment cause my wife liked the fries, but it might not be my first choice.

Bartender was super friendly and very helpful. Beer was amazing

Stopped by for a late lunch with the family after a hike. PERFECT spot for a great bite to eat. Very friendly staff!

As someone who works in the service industry, it is disappointing that I got there at 8:30 and was told they’re closed even though they’re open until 9. All places I have worked must serve anyone who comes in before close. First and last visit.

Great beer, good food, disappointing service. The chicken sandwich was good, the locally sourced hot dog had a gamey taste to it, but that’s subjective. Both beers wee very good.
But the service - The server brought water right away then never came back. I saw them get out a laptop and start scrolling so I went to the bar and asked if I order there, no they do it at the table. Finally came over and we ordered. Beer and food came out at a decent time. Asked for silverware and didn’t get it until halfway through the meal when we asked again. Eventually cleared our table when we were done but never came back so we could pay. After another long wait I had to pay at the bar. I think some of this was on the sever, but I think Selvedge needs to have more than 1 sever on a Saturday, the place is big. Overall, no real desire to return. Be aware that they will add 15% to each tab automatically, and they’re upfront about it. They suggest adding an additional 5%, with this visit, it wasn’t warranted.

Great ambience, great service, and great beer. Had an IPA I would have never ordered anywhere else and loved it. They don’t have many options but every option is well executed and hard to argue against. Well worth the stop. Also the bathrooms rock. 6 oz. Smoked Doppelbock pictured!

Selvedge has good vibes, great service and fine brews but their food could use some serious upgrade. Next time my partner and I will come for the beverages

Beers were fine, food ok but overpriced. The farro salad barely had any veggies as described. Not a dog-friendly spot- dogs allowed on patio but there’s only one table barely in the shade. Service was unenthusiastic at best.

Selvedge Brewing is crushing it in all aspects of Beer + Restaurant life. The branding is on point, executed *seamlessly* (ha ha) across all touch points, from decor to beer names. We love hanging out at this casual, hip joint. Selvedge is kid-friendly with games and TV's, offers excellent customer service, and is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy good beer and a burger or chicken sandwich! (My only request would be to expand the food menu.)

Great beer. Very impressed. Love the naco fries. Servers worked hard to take care of a large group with all individual bills. Did I mention, great beer?

Kid friendly, great beer

We had a very late group gathering at Selvedge and the service was great! Everyone was very accommodating and made the experience fun and seamless. Miriam our server was awesome - friendly and efficient!
