As always Chef Laura Fonner did not disappoint! Years ago we dined with her at Duners restaurant for my birthday dinner and it completely blew me away. This year I chose to dine with her again for my birthday and it was nothing short of spectacular! The intricate details down to the complexity of each dish, she knocks it out of the park. As always, we will be back!
We ate Friday night at the Siren in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was delightful. It cuisine is American - Mediterranean with the focus on seafood. We started with the pita bread drizzled with olive oil and a balsamic glaze, served with zaatar labneh and chimichurri. It was very tasty. I have had dinner twice at Siren. The first time was overall excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was great. The second dinner was not as good. The server was inattentive. He did not introduce himself and never came to ask how things were and if we needed anything (I had to flag him down whenever we needed something). The food was not as good as the first time. The eggplant in the moussaka was undercooked, and the flavor was lacking. I might give the restaurant one...
