Shaun was extremely accommodating and helpful! The staff was wonderful and the food was excellent. I cant recommend this establishment enough! 10/10 experience, thank you for everything.

We came to celebrate the SMU victory over Virgina. We wanted some soul food . The food was outstanding. Shaun was an outstanding host, and cook .He did it all.
We had the family platter. It consisted of fried fish and fried chicken. We enjoyed mac and cheese, greens, yams and cornbread.

My wife and I tried Soul Food Joint for the first time today. We were so impressed! Shaun Devon was great! The Food was so good. Everything was awesome! I highly recommend this place.

I had the fried fish platter with fried deviled eggs and sweet corn. OMG, do yourself a favor and get the corn! It’s out of this world. Everything was delicious.

OMG my family and I love this place!!! First impressions were everything. This was the best customer service experience ever. The food was delicious and hot when served as it came out pretty quickly for an order of four people. FYI the server offered us to dine in as they had limited seating available however he made me aware they mainly provide take out. I’ll definitely be back when in the area as I traveled an hour. Most definitely worth the drive!

Took a chance on a little hole in the wall place. The saying is true, you will find the best food when you go off the beaten path. Soul Food Joint serves mostly take out and catering but they have a few tables to eat in. My only regret is not catching the chef's name! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with callard greens and my wife got the mac-n-cheese. Instead what we we got was a full course meal! Chef let us try the Cole slaw, pasta salad, potatoe salad, plus what we ordered. Everything was On Point! Huge props for the cornbread that came with my sandwich! For the first time in my life I enjoyed cornbread! It was more like a desert than anything else. The price point couldn't be beat for the meal we had, $22 bucks and we had one of the best meals ever in Cville. I don't write reviews often but this place deserved it. Only thing I thought could be improved was the music was a little too loud. Sound track was awesome but hard to talk over it. Take the time and support this new chef! He is serving Soul the way it's supposed to be!

My husband and I were in Charlottesville and decided to stop here for a quick lunch. We were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and at an unbelievable price! My husband is a very picky eater and he greatly enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich (which actually included 2 sandwiches freshly made!) and the delicious collard greens! I am vegetarian so not much on the menu for me so I ordered a small side of mac and cheese, but the gentleman actually gave us a small pasta salad, coleslaw and potato salad which were all vegetarian and absolutely delicious!! Oh my goodness, I can’t speak highly enough about the cornbread! Just WOW! More like a cinnamon dessert! We were so impressed with this place and we will definitely return!! The gentleman who waited on us, cooked for us, and served us is top notch! We can’t recommend this place enough!!

I usually don't leave reviews but this time I had to! My friend and I came and got two soul food platter tonight. And let me tell you, everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! The ribs are nice and tender, the yams are nice and sweet, and the tuna mac salad is on point! The portions are huge and you get more than your money's worth. I have plenty leftover for tomorrow. Also, I wanna say thank you to the owner for helping us carry all the food to the car! We will most definitely be coming back again!! 10/10 RECOMMEND!

Was at a huge conference at the Doubletree and was starving. My group went to this restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner. When we got there there were other customers waiting out front. They had a sign posted in the window saying they were just around the corner and will arrive in a jiffy... 20minutes later we left along with 4 other vehicles. You have to be open and serving customers to be a business. I would have given 0 stars but google doesn't allow it.
