It is located inside the Dairy Market building along with other eatery’s and cafes.
Calm and pleasant environment, beautifully decorated. We went on “steak night” and got a beautiful 8 oz flank for only $15!!! We ordered a few plates and shared it. The Lomo Saltado was by far the best that we ordered, the dish was amazing and a perfect blend of flavors, I definitely recommend this. The Provoleta appetizer was not only aesthetically pleasing, but it was so yummy and it arrived to the table “on fire”. The tomato salad was nice pairing as well. We also got all the accompanying sauces for the steak, I wouldn’t recommend getting all though, the chimichurri sauce was the one that tasted the best imo. Overall a fantastic dinner and great service. Not many people dining hopefully this was just a slow night because it was really a great place!

I visited South and Central in Charlottesville yesterday, and it was a mixed experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a warm and inviting vibe that made the evening enjoyable. The drinks were outstanding, perfectly crafted, and a great complement to the food.
However, the service was not professional. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, our food took almost an hour to arrive. We were not informed about the delays in advance and only found out the kitchen was understaffed after we asked about our order. Additionally, we ordered a steak medium well, and after all this time, it came out medium.
Overall, the ambiance and drinks make it worth a visit, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the service and communication.

We had a great experience. From the delicious food and impeccable service. Our server was great and didn’t miss a beat despite it being finals week. The atmosphere has always been cozy here and added to the charm of our experience. Overall, South and Central surpassed all expectations. I appreciate the effort their staff went through to make our experience memorable.

Food tastes okay but is WAY overpriced for what it is. I had the el toro burger and it barely had any flavor. The “yucca” fries seem to be average potato fries, I’ve had yucca fries and these weren’t it. To top it off, they charged us a dollar for ketchup, outrageous! Overall this restaurant has no business charging these prices for food that’s just “okay,” I won’t be returning.

One of the best spots in CVILLE, but expect some heavy business hours in the dinner service! Go at lunch, order the Green Chili Burger or any burger, a side of fries, and be blown away by some truly kind and hardworking servers. Full five stars, friendly and food out of this world.
Dietary restrictions: Fully compliment and will attend to any dietary restrictions you have.
Parking: Go around the back and park in the Dairy Market parking. It's paid, but it ain't expensive.

I visited on Monday Burger night, got a burger and a margarita. The burger was really good as with a margarita, but be careful about adding fries. When I ordered my burger I was asked what kind of fries I would like with it, I assumed fries were included. Well, that's not the case, french fries are $8 extra! This was never made clear to me and it wasn't on the menu for the special menu, so to me it seems like a sneaky way of getting another 8 bucks from people. So instead of my bill being around $20 which my work allowance allows, it was nearly $30 and after the tip I was out the door for nearly $40 for a burger, fries and a margarita.

Our waitress Merril was short, rude, didn’t refill drinks without asking, didn’t ask if we wanted another round. Please have your servers learn customer service and friendliness.

I wish I could give Cameron an extra star on service!! We dined in on Friday night, and it was not super busy at that point, but Cameron clearly has some tables that required extra attention, yet she still did a fantastic job taking care of us, and and she really made us feel at home and we enjoyed the entire experience. This was my second time eating here, and the ceviche is life changing! Last time I ordered it was only my second time having it ever, but we came back an again because I had been craving it nonstop. They also have cool decor! Definitely recommend checking this place out!
