Splendora's Gelato

My favorite place for a treat for myself or to meet up with friends. I love that so many flavors are sourced from local produce and vary with the seasons, and that I can always count on a delicious chocolate or coffee scoop if that's what I'm in the mood for. The hot chocolate is a must in the winter months!

A wonderful place to get a sweet treat. Plenty of dairy and gluten free options, and the owner, PK, is always very careful when I mention my food allergies. There are classic gelato flavors to choose from that sit alongside unique and really creative flavors for those who like to try new things! We also ordered custom gluten free & dairy free cupcakes for our baby shower that were absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Splendora's is a family favorite of ours. Definitely a small business to support!

Splendora's is consistently the best gelato in Charlottesville. Every week brings new experimental flavors (calamansi is my fave) but also reliable and enjoyable standbys (salted caramel, lemon, mango, etc.). lt's very hard to delight others consistently and I'm grateful to have a place nearby that nails it.

Amazing gelato! I’ve been obsessed with these flavors even though I live hundreds of miles away. With some incredible kindness and ingenuity from the owner (and a lot of dry ice) two pints drove home with my daughter this week. Loved every bite and can’t wait for the next time I am in Charlottesville to try more.

I was surprised to visit the Stonefield Splendora’s and find that its atmosphere is very different from the location on the mall. Sort of grungy, dirty, and low quality decor/signage. I’m hoping they reassess this location to bring it up to the same standard as the Mall location.

Adorable little place with really unique flavors and 1990's prices. We got 2 gelatos and a double Americano for 13.00. For real. It was really busy and the woman working the counter (all by her lonesome) was rocking it. Cool as a cucumber. That girl needs a raise. We'll definitely go again!

In a town with some amazing dessert options, this is one of my favorite places for a sweet treat. The owner is something of a flavor genius, and can knock the traditional gelato flavors out of the park, but I really love her creativity with the "weird" flavors. She puts together flavor combinations that I would never come up with in a million years, and they usually just HIT. I love hole she incorporates local and seasonal ingredients - sometimes foraged! Challenge yourself to try something new, or let yourself be embraced by a comforting favorite.Oh, and do yourself a favor and try an affogato (gelato with a shot of espresso poured over it) or chocogato (the same, but with hot chocolate poured over). ?Super cute shop with funky, mildly eccentric decor, and I interesting, thoughtful, good people running the place. One of the best things about Cville.

Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything is vegetarian. Many things are also vegan.

We love coming here ! The owner is always super friendly and let us try all the flavors we are curious about. They have new flavors every time we go. Everything we’ve had has been so good! Def my fave gelato place in the area ! :)

Amazing, unique gelato, with the best chocolate ice cream/gelato I’ve ever had. It’s super velvety with a strong chocolate flavor. My favorite flavors are the dairy chocolate, caramel, and coconut, but everything else I’ve had has been amazing. Also, her cookies are incredible.
