In a town with some amazing dessert options, this is one of my favorite places for a sweet treat. The owner is something of a flavor genius, and can knock the traditional gelato flavors out of the park, but I really love her creativity with the "weird" flavors. She puts together flavor combinations that I would never come up with in a million years, and they usually just HIT. I love hole she incorporates local and seasonal ingredients - sometimes foraged! Challenge yourself to try something new, or let yourself be embraced by a comforting favorite.Oh, and do yourself a favor and try an affogato (gelato with a shot of espresso poured over it) or chocogato (the same, but with hot chocolate poured over). ?Super cute shop with funky, mildly eccentric decor, and I interesting, thoughtful, good people running the place. One of the best things about Cville.Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything is vegetarian. Many things are also vegan.Dietary restrictions: She often has vegan and gluten free baked goods, and her dairy-free frozen flavors are vegan.

I was looking for Splendors at the Downtown Mall and it closed during Covid. I just saw a shop at Stonefied with the same name. Hope it's the same

Amazing, unique gelato, with the best chocolate ice cream/gelato I’ve ever had. It’s super velvety with a strong chocolate flavor. My favorite flavors are the dairy chocolate, caramel, and coconut, but everything else I’ve had has been amazing. Also, her cookies are incredible.

Hands down the best frozen treat shop in town. The flavors are always fun and vibrant. I took my daughter there for her first ice cream. She loved the strawberry and the blueberry verbena. The kalamansi was a bit much for her, but I thought it went great with both the other flavors.

Interesting ice cream and sorbet. 12 flavor in total. They do have something on the menu for 10$. You can get 10 flavors but smaller portion where you can try most of the flavor.

I came here with my friend recently and loved my experience. There's a really cute mural on the wall inside. The lady that took my order was friendly. I tried the dairy free chocolate gelato and it was really good. I'm impressed, because good tasting dairy free options can be hard to come by.

Such an amazing place to stop after a ride! The Gelato is the best in town, the shop is such a chill place. Thanks for being awesome!
We are in C-ville for my oldest's summer orientation as he is starting at UVA this fall. My middle wanted ice cream so I dutifully googled "best Ice cream in Charlottesville" and this spot popped up. What was surprising is we could not find a website, we had no knowledge of the flavors despite looking on their instagram but we went forth. My son's eyes lit up at first bite. I'm actually not a fan of ice cream or custard but apparently I have never had gelato. I took a taste and loved it. It is almost like frozen pliable icing....it was so good 10/10 for the chocolate with its depth of flavors ...probably stopping by tomorrow on our way out of town....

Great selection of gelato flavors with a fun rotation of seasonal flavors. The vegan cupcakes are scrumptious(only availableon certain days) . Free samples are a plus when you are curious as I am. The owner PK is very active in the local community which is a bonus as well. Feels cozy & inviting ? .

The ice cream was so good!! My favorite was the almond, it tasted just like almond and was better than what I was expecting!! I also had the cookies and cream and it was so good it wasn't even funny. It was so delicious. And that was money well spent. Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: They were so kind, and all the flavors sounded amazing, my 5 year old self would have gotten 3 scoops of every flavor if they could.

What is not to love here? The gelato is awesome, the flavors range from the generic to the outlandish. The other carbs never disappoint. Her bagel chats on IG are great. The knowledge she shares and the way she protects minorities in the food business is also wonderful. It's a perfect little oddity.

The pandan flavor was so YUMMY! One of the best ice cream flavors I've had but I might be biased because I'm a pandan lover. The lavender lemon flavor was too sour for my taste buds. I couldn't really taste much of a lavender flavor since the sourness overpowered.
