This is my go-to Thai spot, and it always hits the mark! The food is super tasty, the portions are big (I usually have leftovers), and the service is always great. I’m always telling my friends to check it out!
The food was delicious and their Thai tea is one of my top choices. Their prices are great and the food is great quality taste!
Pad Kraprow (Kapow, Grapow, depending on the restaurant) is probably my favorite Asian dish ever. This place serves the best I've ever had. I lived in Cville twenty years ago, and the original Thai '99 was fantastic, but this is better. There's a hint of...tartness, I guess? that makes me think they add just a bit of vinegar to the sauce. Amazing. And I like the ambience well enough. The bolts of fabric on shelves above the bar are a really inventive choice.
My wife and I love Thai food. We have lived in 7 states and Thai ‘99 is in our top 2 favorite Thai restaurants that we have frequented. We live in the Richmond area and come to Charlottesville once a week. We look forward to our weekly trip to Thai ‘99 all week long! Great ownership and staff. Amazing appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
I'm convinced I need a paper list of all the dishes so I can cross off what I have tried, as everything I try has been tasty, and I want to be sure I try everything!

Excellent service. Enjoyed the Tofo Pad Thai.
The food was pretty good. Red tgai curry was tasty. Chicjen was slightly fry and they could have added some more pineapple to the fried rice. But will definitely recommend. Their shrimp in blanket is very good.
Thai 99 is very good thai restaurant in charlottesville. Everything in the restaurant is on point food, service and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to try at least once...

Love their curries, fried rice, and noodles!! The portion size is so good, especially for the price! As a Thai, I wanted Thai food in Charlottesville that wasn't overpriced and this place was perfect. The price is fair, they're friendly people and very understanding. I will definitely be going back!
