We had a delightful experience at Tilman's! We stopped for a happy hour snack and had wine and cheese, cocktails and the most amazing butternut squash soup we have ever tasted!
Everything we've tried here over the years has been super delicious. The brie, fig, and speck crostini is one of my favorite snacks/small plates of all time anywhere. There's kind of a rotating cast of sandwiches, salads, and soups and it's always tasty with super fresh tasting ingredients and great flavor combinations.
To begin, my wife and I didn't know what to expect with this gem along the downtown pedestrian mall in Charlottesville, but it was an intriguing concept given the counter service for ordering. We're so glad we made the decision. They were quite attentive in the sense of bringing food and drinks out right away, refilling out water carafe and engaging in conversation when that was appropriate. As you can see from my photos, there's a bit of a store concept also here...
