I'll start by saying that I have never written a negative review before so this is a first. My daughters and I ate at Travinia recently for lunch and we were extremely disappointed. I ordered the grilled swordfish with corn risotto and it was so bad that I could barely eat 1/4 of it. One of my daughters was so excited about the short rib rigatoni until she tasted it and then realized how bad it was. This is my teenager who loves to eat, especially Italian food. Normally I wouldn't post a review if the food was less than satisfactory but on this visit the service was just as bad. We were there for a late lunch and hardly anyone was in the restaurant, however our service was very slow and our server acted as if we were keeping him from something more important. Overall this was a disappointing visit and not the birthday lunch my 15 year old daughter was hoping for. That was the last time we will eat at Travinia.
Amazing as always. Edwin is awesome and his trainee did very well also. Food was excellent and service is always on point.
Outstanding service and wonderful food. Definitely worth the price!
We went here last year while in town with our baseball team. Both years we went as a large group an the did well. Food is good, service was fairly quick, we had a group of 24, and it's not priced too bad
One of our favorite go to bar and restaurants. Never too crowded, great loaction and awesome service. As well, we love to eat at the bar. Well drinks are some of the best in town. The food is very good quality and surprising how big the portions are. Either consider sharing a meal or get the appetizer portion...
Walked into a beautiful, gorgeous restaurant, the smells that came from the kitchen were mouthwatering! That's where it ends. First off the hostess was on the phone and saw us, and actually turned her back toward us!! After about three minutes she looked back at us, surprised we were still there, and told the person on the phone to wait and she set the phone down and motioned us to follow her. I would have left then if the place didn't smell so wonderful. We set down and a few minutes later our server took our drink orders, came back with our drinks and asked what we would like. I said "menus?" He laughed and said " my bad, I got you dog" He brought us menus and we ordered. Thirty four minutes later.....THIRTY FOUR!!! We got our food. My pasta was so over cooked it tasted like mush, so I asked if I could get something else and got a flatbread. I had to get it to go, because everyone else was finished eating... The moral of this story is smells can be deceiving.
The food was great as was the service. Really nice and relaxed vibe...eat at the tables, at the bar, in a comfy lounge area, or out on the patio. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and although the restaurant felt "comfy posh," the food was authentic Italian. For a twist on a late night favorite, try the Italian Nachos!
I love this restaurant. Every time my sister visits this is where she wants to eat. The food was delicious and the service was great.
great service, good was also fantastic
I had a mid-week dinner here with a couple of friends. The waiter was very attentive and had great recommendations. He really knew the menu and the drink choices which was helpful since we had some special dietary needs. The food was really good. I personally had the Pasta Mia Nonna and it was one of the best dishes I've had there. I've eaten at this restaurant many times and I'm never disappointed!
Restaurantji Recommends
I liked garlic in my food. But damn there was food in my garlic. Trust me after eating here, you create your own 20 mile radius of a vampire free zone. The drinks they make are visual works of art!
Excellent service and atmosphere. I would not recommend the roasted chicken, which sounded delicious but was inexpertly prepared. Other diners' pasta looked yummy.
After each visit to Travinia, we've been left longing. Be it slow service, poor service, or simply being underwhelmed by the food, we feel 3 stars is the appropriate level. Don't expect it to be horrible, but certainly don't expect it to be wonderful.
Good food clean quick service love it
Great atmosphere, open space, friendly. Fast service with a smile. Lasagna was very cheesy, as the waitress warned me, and not enough beef or sausage in it, but a 4 stars. Pasta mi Nonna , a kind of fettuccine Alfredo without the white sauce was good, also a 4, needs more garlic and a softer chicken A good experience overall.
