Smakeloos, miso gerechten alsof je kippensoep met spaghetti eet. Kip gerecht droog. Zeker geen verrassende Aziatische smaak die je verwacht. Bestellen via QR code, service matig.

We went for brunch in between heat waves and loved sitting on the patio! Such a cute atmosphere for right outside of the downtown mall, and the food was equally amazing. My favorite part is that you can get large containers of the pickled radishes and kimchi to go.

Big Mac bibimbap, ramen, hot dog lettuce wraps—this place has everything! Definitely worth a visit.
Love this place so much. I’ve been twice and each time has been great. Food is amazing, staff is friendly. Would recommend ❤️ Make sure to get dessert

While I was visiting Cville, my folks, my sister & her wife took me out to Umma’s for a wonderful Fried Chicken Happy Hour Extravaganza… Delicious food & drinks, friendly service, and a nice little booth in the back where my dad could hear us talk. Looking forward to my next visit!
PS We took a jar of house-made kimchi to go… reminded me of the homemade kimchi our neighbors made for us when I was a kid.

Came here pretty much straight from Korea after seeing "big mac bibimbap" and thought it'd be a good laugh as a segue between the two cuisines. The service was lovely and the bibimbap was better than it had any right to be. Worth a visit!

Delicious. Highly recommend the Big Mac bokkeumbap and the Yuzurita (we were less fans of the bibimbap)

The Korean for there was one of the best that we've had. The service was excellent for ordering on an app (call me Ole fashion). I may have to take .001 star off for the fried egg on Bimbipop was over cooked. We pigged out as you can see by the pictures.

Go to Maru or Doma.I will preface by saying we came around 8:30 so maybe not a good time. However, it took them a long time to bring out 2 beers, it came after our food. Also things came out as they were done, so my wife got her entree a few minutes before me.I would not recommend the miso ramen. It was noodles, chicken broth, pork rinds, a slice of American cheese? At least the pork belly and collards were good in it.We got the dolsat bimimbap but it was unsauced, plain vegetables with plain rice.Overall, sub par service, not authentic, and not great quality. To top it off a rat popped up beside us at the outdoor table, won’t be back

If you're looking for authentic Korean food, this isn't it. It's all fusion. It's good fusion, but don't be misled by people's reviews calling it Korean. Food was 4/5. Tasty overall. Peanut/lime isn't a flavor I'd usually put on fried chicken, but it was alright. The "atmosphere" was whatever. We were put in the tent. And while there were open tables so the place wasn't packed, it was hard to hear any music and tables were a little close together for my taste. The service is literally nonexistent. There is no service. The host sat us and proceeded to "um..." his way through the menu as though it was the first time he was reading it. You order and pay through a QR code so they can skip out on having to pay way staff. Instead of bringing our food altogether as one would expect from our restaurant, they just brought each item one-at-a-time as it was finished in the kitchen. Canned and bottled drinks should not be brought to customers' tables already opened; it is poor service. If you're going to open them for customers (or offer to do so), do it at the table in front of them.Aside from the host and our food being delivered, we never interacted with any staff in the restaurant the whole time we were there. No one came by to ask if things were alright or we needed anything. Not even the person delivering our food said anything to us beyond asking whose each item was as it was delivered. The fact that the website they use asks for a tip when there is literally no service provided is a joke. Worse yet is that it doesn't have a "no tip" option by default and can only be done by choosing custom tip and typing 0. I'd never stiff wait staff on tips, but they don't have wait staff, and they don't wait on you. McDonald's has better service than Umma's.The service alone is why we will not be returning.

Ordered for pickup, went in to get it, first noticed an LGBTQIA+ flag and knew straight away that I would feel safe. As I entered I noticed a very young crowd packed in the place, calm and busy. Waited for my food to be ready and when I went up to get it, the person working FOH was very kind and straight to the point. Got out of there with amazing tasting food and would recommend this place highly if you want some delicious food and good vibes!!

I have been wanting to try Ummas for a few years now - but am rarely in downtown Charlottesville in the evenings. I finally got to go! I enjoyed the menu selections and Korean and Japanese options. I was with my kid who is a very picky eater and he ate all of his karage Japanese chicken - high praise! The kimchi selections are very fresh and delicious. The Korean Fried Chicken is so crispy and yummy. I really am glad to have finally been able to dine here. Also note that it’s a QR ordering system - with option to order at the front counter if the tech fails for you. Go!

QR menu and ordering makes things quick and easy. Ordered peach soju and spicy miso ramen. The soju was smooth and sweet a pleasant pairing with the ramen. The ramen was spicier than anticipated but good flavor wise, the broth was thin but still filling.
