Food was great! Service was great! Had the restaurant week menu and it was a fantastic deal!

Great barbecue! Tried the ribs, pulled pork, and smoked chicken. All very delicious. Really enjoyed the slaw, but overall, and the sides were tasty. Will be returning!

Awesome burnt ends!! So yummy - and the cornbread was delicious too - good BBQ - easy atmosphere - and plenty of parking right out front.

I really wanted to like this place after hearing good things, but our experience was rough from start to finish. I placed an Uber Eats order for a spicy chicken sandwich, a 1/2 rack of ribs, and chicken wings. The app said the order would be ready at 6:58 PM. I walked in exactly at that time and the app even showed it was ready… but it definitely wasn’t. When I walked in, the guy behind the bar yelled over to me that pickup was “down the hallway.” I went back, there was no bag in the window, just multiple signs telling customers to go back to the lobby if their order wasn’t ready. So I went back to the lobby and stood there until someone finally came out about four minutes later to ask my name. I didn’t leave with my food until 7:10 — twelve minutes past pickup time, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy (maybe five tables and a few people at the bar). When we got home and opened everything, it just got worse. My spicy chicken sandwich smelled burnt and oily, and the chicken had a weird flat “flap” on it. The sandwich was soggy and completely plain — no Special Sauce, no pickles, no jalapeños, no spicy pimento cheese. Just a sad, soggy, overcooked piece of chicken. It was genuinely inedible. My husband’s ribs were the only decent part of the order. The wings, which were supposed to be “sweet and sassy,” were extremely dry and had no flavor at all. Overall, this was super disappointing. Maybe others have had better luck, but based on this experience, I highly do NOT recommend Vision BBQ. Not worth the time, money, or frustration.

I spent $53 and left a $10 tip for the worst food. In Charlottesville, I'm up here on a construction project. I have a crew of 12 people. It's no way I will bring my crew in here to eat this. It is ridiculous.

I have only ordered take-out, so my review is based solely on the dozen or so delivery orders I've had over the past year. The food is wonderful. I especially recommend the brisket burnt ends, and the ribs. Their baked beans are also super on point. I would give Vision 5 stars, but recently they have started using smaller containers for their sides. At $5 each, it's disappointing. I am pretty sure Vision used to use 8oz deli containers, but have since then switched to smaller portions (5oz?) for the same price. I know times are tough but I'd rather pay slightly more for an 8oz to go container than pay the same amount for a smaller portion.

Excellent food! The breaded catfish were perfectly cooked — soft and fluffy on the inside with a crispy, golden coating on the outside. The baby back ribs were tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The food was absolutely amazing! The only downside was the slow service, which could use a bit of improvement. Overall, great job, and please keep serving these delicious dishes!

Slow to be seated, 30 minutes and no food only to be told our order hadn’t been given to the kitchen due to “technical difficulties”.

Avoid at all costs….so many better places in C’ville to eat.

Great smoky flavor in pork, ribs and brisket (a little fatty on portion but no big). Sauces were great. Beer selection great for local. The fried chicken sandwich was so tasty! Great bbq choice in the Hook!

We thoroughly enjoyed all of the barbecued proteins, ribs and pulled pork in particular were outstanding, the sausage was great too. What surprised us was how amazing the sides were too! The baked beans were amazing and the potato salad was delicious. We had a drink at the bar before dinner which was fun. The dining room had a nice relaxed vibe, close to the downtown mall but had an off the beaten path feel to it. The huge smokers out front were fun to look at.

Service was terrible. The waitress said she just started two days earlier and readily admitted she was not familiar with the menu or how the daily specials were priced. We were only one of two tables occupied yet she made us wait to order even after we asked.

Visited this establishment while visiting my brother at college. For dinner time on a Saturday, this place was pretty dead. Ambience was lack luster. Service was friendly but not very attentive, had to request for drink refills. The entrees, bbq pork and smashburger, were good and worth the price. The sides left much to be desired. The mac and cheese was gummy and overdone. The coleslaw was too vinegary and almost fermented in taste. One and done kind of place.
