Went for a birthday dinner and the food was not cooked to order which happened to the people in front and behind us also. Portion size we were told was enough to share but it was literally a spoon full. The best thing was the Caesar salad which still was not a lot. Order white peach sangria at the end and it tasted just like mimosas and all orange juice with alcohol. Definitely not peach. They did take a dinner off but definitely would not recommend unfortunately.

Took some house guests to the Amber Lantern, the food and atmosphere were excellent. It’s a much quieter restaurant than some of the others in Chesapeake so you can actually have a conversation without yelling. I love nice drinks when I’m out and they don’t really have a good drink menu so you have to come up with ideas on your own. I recommend they fix that. All in all this is a very good restaurant. It is tucked away off the beaten path, but that adds to its charm. Our server was very good. The only reason I’m not giving an overall excellent rating is for the drink menu and the fact that our first impression was of a young staff member loitering near the entrance and cussing while taking to someone else.

We've been here several times. This is a good restaurant, but it could be better. My wife and I visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our meals but had mixed feelings about a vegetable medley side (heavy with corn and overcooked) and the service. Our server, Grace, was good, but not as attentive as we would have liked. The restaurant may have been short-staffed, which might explain.

I love the oysters here, so delicious! The gnocchi is my husbands favorite. The Caesar salad is our favorite, beautiful presentation and delicious too! I keep saying I am going to try something different but I can't get past the oysters!

Steak was dry. Atmosphere is blah, staff is super vanilla. The manager will probably reply with some excuse to save face, as in most reviews. Truth is, if this place was anywhere else than the backroads of Chesapeake it would be out of business. It only does good because it’s the only semi nice place to go on a date in the area. Go somewhere else if you want a properly cooked steak with flavor.

This review is based on the poor management and misleading costumer service communications. I called the restaurant to make a reservation for 8 guests making them aware that the numbers may change....I called back to update the number of guests to 16 and she mentioned that I have to make a deposit of $6 per person to secure the reservation and that $$ was going to be applied towards the meal or whatever it will be consumed on that day.....In a good faith, I gave my credit card information. However, when I was notified that I will received one bill for the whole party.....I asked why they can't bill each couple individually? She said to "resolve" that issue with the guests or tell them to bring cash!!!....I was astonished at her careless response....."that's our protocol"....Later on, I share this information with a friend. She didn't like to hear that we can't bring the cake and that balloons and decorations are not allowed....!!! "We are celebrating a master grad.....why so many restrictions" we decided to cancel the reservation. And here it is the part I feel it is a "deceived" behavior from them.....I called to cancel three days pryor the event. The reply was that there is not reimburse.....!!! And this information WASN'T released when I made the reservation. It is ashame and very disappointed. The manager sounded careless. She didn't show any concerns. They took $96 from me in a deceitful way. I hope they take consideration and reflect on their CS values. The place may offer a nice view and good food but the service and communication has created a negative impression.

I have a good and trustworthy account manager that allows me to withdraw my profits anytime I want and I can monitor everything going on in my account when she is busy trading with her expert team and I don't have issues with pending withdrawals. I must admit that she's a very honest woman. I have no way of thanking her than letting people know about her services and recommend her for everyone to trade on her platform. She's 100% accurate and up-to-date. Kindly contact Mrs. Sandra Billy fx:

My wife and I could not decide where to go to celebrate our anniversary. We have lived in Great Bridge 25 years and had not tried the Amber Lantern Restaurant. When we checked in, we requested a window view and the hostess immediately went over and cleaned a booth table for us. Then Grace, our server, greeted us. Throughout the meal, she was helpful in recommending dishes and gave us time/space to enjoy the dishes that she brought. We split an Atlantis Salad. Very nice greek style salad and was the perfect amount for us to share. My wife ordered the oyster dinner and I ordered the Mahi-Mahi,based on Grace's recommendation. Both entrees were well plated and were a solid presentation. They were also both excellent. We had a California wine that we had visited the vineyard. It is not served often in restaurants and we were delighted to enjoy it with our meals. Grace comes back to the table to offer dessert. My wife asked Grace for her recommendation and she suggested the Coconut Bomb Cake. Grace was amazing again. Really good cake. We had a very nice dinner and a nice anniversary celebration thanks' to the Amber Lantern.

Traveling north bound on a boat.Friend had told us it was a good restaurant.First of all, Kelly bartender, short staff, did a hell of a job. Wife and I spit fried oyster appetizer, best fried oysters we have ever had. I had crab stuffed shrimp, which was recommended or I would not have ordered, were excellent, moist and delicious.
