This is the 3rd time my husband and I tried to eat at The Celtic Tiger and they were not open! We arrived at 5 pm on Saturday, 8/5/23, Doors were. locked but the sign on door showed hours of operation for Saturdays to be 11:30 am - 10 pm.

This was a great place to eat but it has closed down, along with Mack's Grill next door.

Showed up on a Saturday at 6pm the place was deserted. Google said they were open and the piece of paper taped to the door with temporary hours said they were open, but they definitely were not. No one was there and it looked in disrepair.Tried calling to see if they moved and the number has been disconnected. The website redirects to a new Mack's location in Norfolk.I'm assuming they are permanently closed? And if not I hope they'd update their restaurant online. We used to love going there.

Came in for a light lunch and left full with leftovers to take home. Very filling and absolutely delicious. Nice relaxed atmosphere with an attentive waiter. Will definitely come back for some drinks.

It's a great little bar, unfortunately they're on the ropes and the owner plans to replace it with a drive through place. So if you're in the area, stop by and show them some love.

This is a bar rating only because we did not have food. Burrito says while the drinks were excellent, they are losing stars for service, or the lack thereof. The bartender was lovely and trying her best, but she was running the entire front of house by herself on the evening we went. Dumpling really enjoyed his Irish coffee, which was delish and in our opinion beats the Irish coffee at our typical Richmond Irish bar. The whip cream on top was homemade and a real treat.

Absolutely disrespectful service. We were told to wait 20 minutes and we ended waiting over an hour. It was my partners birthday and even when confronted the whole situation was handed horribly by both the waitress and the manager. We were genuinely excited about eating here and the environment looked inviting but after the interaction we did not feel comfortable staying. As a party that included POC in an Irish restaurant, watching several white patrons being served and seated after us it is hard to not think there might’ve been some implicit biases at work. Although we would’ve loved to eat here and the food near us looked very appealing, we could not morally/ethically give this instituting our business knowing they do not know how to handle situations properly. How much restaurant management training they have received is beyond me but it seems null to none. Might come back once better, nicer staff work there.

We arrived expecting it to be busy due to the holiday, but the service we received was distasteful. We arrived and waited by the front door as requested by the “please wait to be seated” sign. Someone came by saying there would be a 20min wait. Our friends asked if we could wait at the bar, but we were told we’d be waiting to be served there as well. About that time, the wait sign was flipped over to a greeting. Seeing that no one took our name down to find us for the next available table, my partner and I waited by the door. We were approached by different staff asking if we had been helped and said we could take a seat anywhere. We sat down with menus and waited. We were then approached by a server who took our drink orders and later came back stating she could not serve us drinks for another 20min as instructed by the manager. She returned with waters and apologized again for not being able to serve us yet before quickly tending to other customers. 20min had long passed to almost an hour. We understood that they were too busy to serve us, but there was no intent on at least taking our orders. Our friend approached 2 different staff. Ultimately, we left since we did not feel welcomed. Not to mention, others that arrived after us were being served.

Have you seen that show, Bar Rescue, with John Taffer? Yeah? This place would fit right in! The food looked and tasted like it had been reheated once or twice. The kids chicken fingers were so tough they could not bite through. My wife's prime rib would have made an excellent pair of shoes and the "au jus" was like warm A-1 sauce. The goods, my wife chocolate foo foo drink was good so at least they had that going for themselves.

We went in expecting the worst after reading the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the friendly kitchen staff, the layout is a little different than most establishments, and served by the manager Jerra. The food was great, the portions were large, and the prices were very moderate considering how everywhere and everything else seems to be skyrocketing. We learned that they are under new management. We ordered the shepherds pie and the salmon boxty, I would have given a 5, but we've never had them served before in a restaurant, but they were both delights. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

My favorite restaurant while we were visiting! There is a bar but we didn't drink. Think pub with good food.Someone knows how to put together a menu and cook. The food was authentic and didn't taste cheap or bland, they really pack some flavors in there. Everyone liked what they got and the prices were fair for the portion size. I left satisfied but not bloated. The staff were friendly and I will be visiting again when I come back!
