We had dinner recently at The Court House Cafe in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake.
This is a wonderful restaurant and a hometown favorite. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful with menu questions and suggestions if you’re on the fence about what to order.
I recommend that you come early, especially for dinner because they tend to fill up quickly.
I really enjoyed the cheeseburger served with steak fries. Mine was cooked perfectly and seasoned properly. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious!
I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant if you enjoy good food for reasonable prices.

Delicious. This is our new favorite restaurant in the Suffolk area—-we loved everything about our meal. Highly recommend the Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve bourbon and queen cut prime rib. Our party had a variety of sides, everything was exceptional.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. Our server was Kristi who knew her stuff and was on point. The drinks were very delicious and the food was top notch. We started with appetizers.(she crab soup, and crab dip.) and moved on to our main course, which was very flavorful and hot and fresh. If you’re in the area, definitely get this place a chance, from comforting foods to seafood it’s worth making a detour for.

Had our holiday dinner here with a party of 10 and even though the place isnt set of for larger parties, they still accommodated us. Mrs. Mark and the team were so sweet and Johnah was very attentive and made sure we had everything to make our holiday work luncheon memorable. We will definitely return.

Prime rib is delicious. If you want a good hunk of meat, this is the place. Tight seating for bigger parties.

I've lived in the area for 30+ years, and I've known about Courthouse Cafe pretty much since I moved here, but I never went. Having worked for one of the core organizations in the area, many people I knew had gone there, so I was hopeful when I finally visited the restaurant. I was so incredibly disappointed. Not by the staff - they were lovely. Not by the atmosphere - it was fine. The food was just so basic and tasteless. Could I have hit them on a bad day? Maybe. The salad was just a plate of iceberg and a few veggies thrown on top, and the french dip was so bland. The french fries were hot but too hard and a disappointment as french fries go. I only ate half and took the rest home to my husband who threw the remainder in the trash. I hate to give such a harsh review to such a hometown favorite, but I don't think I'll ever go again.
