The beef was seasoned perfectly... just a few mins over cooked. A tad bit dry. Otherwise, everything... especially the service, some of the best that we've had in a long time. We will be returning!

The only thing I can say is I have bought some items and return them to another store cuz I was looking for certain items and I can tell you that they do not put the last four digits other car when their receipts that's cracker barrel policy which is nice but when you have issues like I did and returning items to the correct credit card so I suggest if you buy any type of anything in their store that you keep the receipt for sure and then even if you return something you keep that receipt also because I had proof of what I did and what they did đŸš« and all I can say is it took 3 Days to remedy the situation and they still can't explain the credit card transactions ???? But yes ultimately in the end I got what was rightfully mine which they never tried to withhold they always tried to please me but they were also brushing me off at the same time keep your receipts

Serve was slow. During our dinner, there was a customer that was very loud, cursing, and making a big scene. It took talking to two managers to get someone to say something to her and that was as we were leaving. Non of the servers said anything to the manager.

For a place that specializes in breakfast foods they need to learn how to cook eggs. They have a diverse menu with plenty of options and an excellent place for kids. Service is a bit slow and the ambience of the decor is outstanding.

My husband and I came in today around 11:30am. We were sat immediately, and waited about 5 minutes for our server. No problem, we put in our food and appetizer pretty immediately. Our appetizer came out after about 20 minutes, and then we waited another 30 before we stopped our server and let her know we wanted to cancel the meal because I had to be at work in 20 minutes. She assured us it would be right out, and that she could have it packed Togo for us. We decided we’d just wait a little longer. We finally got the meal and my shrimp was over cooked, and the rice completely bland, almost crunchy. I also never received my corn muffins. I had to stand up and find a server to ask about receiving the them. Our server showed up a moment later with regular biscuits. We ended up paying over $50 and left my whole meal on the table uneaten. I completely understand being busy with the lunch rush but no one seemed to care and we left feeling very sad and hungry after paying so much. We love Cracker Barrel for a quick good breakfast but this lunch experience was beyond disappointing.

Nikita ,at Chesapeake Square store on Portsmouth Blvd ,Chesapeake, Va is a consumate server! We always look forward to her attending to us. She remembers our entire order,without taking notes. Refills without being reminded and always with a sincere smile. Nikita represents Cracker Barrel with distintion. She always stops by to say hi,even when we are being served by another colleague. Oh and food is great!

Came to this location on our anniversary for breakfast. I got the country boy breakfast which per the menu description says, “Starts with three farm fresh eggs*, Fried Apples, Hashbrown Casserole, and grits. Plus Sirloin Steak*, Sugar Cured or Country Ham (350-540 cal). Comes with Buttermilk Biscuits (160 cal each) and Sawmill Gravy (160 cal)”. I asked the waitress if I could substitute the grits for anything else as I don’t like grits. She said no sorry you cannot. I said oh okay. My wife orders the grandmas sampler which description is, “Two Pancakes, two eggs* and a sampling of Bacon, Sausage and sugar cured or country Ham. Served with choice of Breakfast Side plus 100% Pure Natural Syrup”. She asks my wife which ham she’d liked she told her sugar cured. Our food comes and the waitress gave me double grits exactly what I told her I didn’t like and my wife’s bacon, sausage, and her breakfast side was missing. I had put the two sides of grits on table and when waitress returned I informed her of the double side of grits and she said, oh well that’s what yall ordered and was referring to one of the grits being my wife’s. My wife then said she ordered hash brown casserole & both sides of grits were on my plate in addition to still missing a side, as three came with meal. She then said sorry that’s what it comes with. Confused and us both becoming irritated because she had an attitude as if she was not going to help clear it up. We were like ok so nothing can be done to fix this? She said no sorry. She walks away comes back and says she spoke with a manager and confirmed nothing they can do even about the missing food and all. The entire ordeal was a little chaotic considering both meals were screwed up and we were MISSING food .. yet nothing could be done?? We then asked to see menu again to re verify what we read was correct and we weren’t the ones misunderstanding something to which it stated exactly what we initially understood. My wife asked another waitress for help and she said our waitress was new and her first day by herself. The training there was rushed and not the best. She graciously assisted us in clearing this up. Our waitress came back to table few moments later apologizing saying she needs to learn menu better. She had made assumptions because most customers request one meat and double portions of it so that’s what she did for my wife but that’s not what my wife had ordered.. so far as my meal she had nothing much to say. She was new and young so she’s still learning and we get that. But to be so defensive and unhelpful in something you messed up on until my wife got someone else to help out was immature and unprofessional. When the food came to table everything was corrected minus my wife never got her side still and I was still missing another side. At this point no manager had ever come to assist with situation, our waitress never came back to fill our drinks from the first drinks she gave us besides once when I had asked for another coffee. My wife was drinking from our daughters apple juice. We decided to just let it go and not let it ruin our anniversary. The lack of customer service and care from our waitress and management was a huge letdown. I understand our waitress was new and there’s a lack of training there but that has nothing to do with customer service and owning up to your mistakes and at least attempting to fix it. Idk if she was afraid of getting in trouble for messing up an order or what. At the end of the day people are paying for food and service. From the involvement of management to the customer service of staff there needs to be better training. After all they’re learning from your example. To the one waitress who assisted us thank you!

When I was first greeted, your associate informed me that it would be one and half hour wait before my meal would be ready. I asked why and your associate informed me that the reason why was that they had a shorted of cooks available due to the holiday (4 of July). However, I did stay and was served within an half hour. A facility of this size should expect a large amount of people regardless of the time period.
