Ordered online and was told my order would be ready in 20mins. Got there, very chaotic behind the counter and saw there was a line. Went over to the order pick up area and explained I placed an order 25mins ago online. The young lady asked for my name and said ok it will be ready shortly. Waited another 10mins and sent my friend back up to check on the order. It still wasn’t ready, she explained some items were no longer available and I could substitute them for something else. So we waited again and asked how long the wait was now. She then said more things weren’t available and we could substitute them as well. I asked how long would that take now and she said minimum 10mins. I then explained it’s been almost an hour and still didn’t have food. I asked to get a refund and was told I would need to contact my bank. Due to the order being placed online.

WOW!! You just do not get your moneys worth anymore. I haven’t been here in a bit. And I won’t be back. I can’t believe people are ok with what they are given.

I paid for large, but it looks like a small. I asked for a bit more rice and the girl really got an attitude, added about a tablespoon more of rice. I wonder what a small would look like.

We’ve been going to Island Jerk Hut since the days when they were in that little hut in Berkeley, with lines out the door no matter what time you showed up. They’ve been consistently delicious from the very beginning. We moved to the Oceanfront a few years back and don’t make it out that way as often anymore, but when we do, we’re always glad we did. This time, my husband had a side of the jerk chicken, and I went with a small brown stew chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage. If I was feeling greedy, I definitely would’ve added a side of mac. They also have sweet potato cornbread that’s to die for, but I think it’s seasonal—so no luck this time. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food made by down-to Earth people who love what they do, I encourage you to stop here. Good portions for your money.

Their food is good, a little pricey.

The worst part is their availability. DONT trust that when it says they're open or they're posting on social media to come visit that they're open. They've done that twice in my experience and they were in fact not open. Call first. If they don't answer don't waste your time or gas going to a closed restaurant.

Chicken was dry and I ordered dark meat. Very pricey for portions. Cabbage was too sweet. However, I loved the jerk sauce. I used to go to the original hut...it was always great so idk what happened.

The flavor of the oxtail, yams and plantains were delicious!!!! However for the price they should definitely be filling up the plate a little more. Felt more like a snack than a meal. An hour later I was hungry again!

Don't get oxtail, because you will be just paying for bones and fat.

I'm so glad I found this place! The food is amazing - hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The rice and peas, oxtail, and cocoa bread are a must-try. Reminds me of home! The owners and staff are super friendly and attentive. Great service all around. If you're in the mood for delicious Jamaican food, definitely check this place out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks Bobby.

I ordered the jerk chicken with cabbage and white rice. The jerk chicken was fine, a bit stingy with the sauce. It was a little spicy with an undertone of sweetness like a bbq type. Cabbage was way too mushy. Couldn’t do nothing with it. Rice is rice but it probably needed to be rinsed before cooking to get that starchy texture out. Service was very slow, probably waited like 50 mins.

Honestly I was disappointed. First time here and I tried it bc a friend gave me some of their pasta before (which was good).
I ordered Jerk chicken w/ rice & peas and cabbage.
Chicken - over cooked and kinda dry where’s the sauce?
Rice & peas - had a sweet under tone which really threw me off
Cabbage - no flavor AT ALL
Ordered the rasta pasta too wasn’t good.
I really wanted it to be good but it just wasn’t. Low key would rather have my money back.
