Hands down best Jamaican food ever. The oxtails are to die for , the cabbage is so tasty, and the bean pies are good. Love the family atmosphere. Good people overall .. I drive from Hampton to hear just to have their food. Will do it once an week at least
We’ve been going to Island Jerk Hut since the days when they were in that little hut in Berkeley, with lines out the door no matter what time you showed up. They’ve been consistently delicious from the very beginning. We moved to the Oceanfront a few years back and don’t make it out that way as often anymore, but when we do, we’re always glad we did. This time, my husband had a side of the jerk chicken, and I went with a small brown stew chicken, rice and peas, and cabbage....
Chicken was dry and I ordered dark meat. Very pricey for portions. Cabbage was too sweet. However, I loved the jerk sauce. I used to go to the original hut...it was always great so idk what happened.
