there is a really qualified evening chef here, able and willing to make what you want within reason.the crab they sell is fresh and tasty- the portions are generous-price is fair.

Do not do it. We paid $150 for a lackluster meal. I went with my boyfriend, my meal was served 15 minutes before his. I didn’t want to eat without him and because of that my $50 crab bucket was cold by the time I ate. Waitress was scarce and there were only five tables max the whole time we were in there and I don’t even think my waitress had another table. I ordered the garlic seasoning for my crab bucket and there was no seasoning. Do yourself a favor, if you wanna leave a seafood restaurant full and satisfied just go to Captain George’s. You’ll get way more crab for a lot less money and their service is way better. Like all the other reviews I’ll probably get a robot response and that’s OK because nothing would make me come back to this place. There’s no management of this place at all.

We came here and spent 94 dollars, the crab dip was delicious as our appetizers so our hopes were for the entree. I ordered the steamer and my girlfriend ordered sirloin and shrimp. She asked for well done and it came out medium well as well as cold in the center. Her shrimp were hard and tuff to chew. The steamer had no seasoning or flavor and was super dry. The only good part it was the corn which sucks because we had high hopes for this place. I would advise if your in the area drive an extra 30 minutes to shore drive and the oceanfront for fresh and cheap better tasting seafood then this.

I went to this Joe's Crabshack on Tuesday 5/2/23, I paid 80$ and got an nearly empty container of crablegs (Daddy's Crab Feast). There was eight crablegs NOT eight clusters, one corn on the cob and two tiny potatoes. If this is how this dish comes that's fine, I can not tell Joe's how to run their business, but when I saw it and wanted my money back, the server refused, then the manager or someone who professed to be the (Tinesha) refused to refund me my 80$ for eight crablegs. Tinesha gave me the headquarters numbers because she said Joe's Crabshack didn't do refunds (I'm sure that's a huge lie). I called the headquarters that next day but they were closed that day, so I called the next day. No one answered, I left a voicemail, I'm still waiting for a call back from headquarters and the crablegs are still in my refrigerator. That same-day I ended up going to another seafood place, got triple the amount of crablegs from them for half the price. I'm really disappointed in Joe's Crabshack because I've been eating and loving Joe's Crabshack since I was a small child. If this problem isn't resolved I will never visit another Joe's again.

Service was great and the food was good. Team was attentive even though it was close to closing on a Sunday evening.. I would go back.

I bought my two daughters to the Chesapeake VA restaurant to celebrate a birthday for my oldest daughter. Waitress was a salesperson trying to get everyone to buy a $25 card for a rewards program and never acknowledged my daughter when she said it was her birthday. I had been to a different location years ago and it was a fun restaurant this one just wasn’t festive and not great service. I would not recommend it unless you want a sales pitch about a rewards program

We were surprised by the high prices, but i was able to turn my meal into 2 meals. I got the Dungeness crabs, hubby got the coconut shrimp combo, and we started with the crab dip. The crab dip was delicious, and all of the other food was really good! The bill was $128, including tip.

Awesome staff, awesome food, awesome managers...this place is awesome! My kids love the playground, so keeping them busy and happy while the wife and I eat is always a plus.

Food was good, but expensive for the atmosphere! Our servers were prompt, but didn't hover! I had the Pirate Platter and it was good. The grilled shrimp were excellent and would order just them next time.

Hadn't been here in a while. Was nice to have excellent dining experience. Seafood was very good. Waitress was excellent and responsive to having children at the table.

My first time here! Menu was filled with options. Staff was very friendly. Food was great. I got a shrimp, lobster, muscle broil platter. More than enough to share. Prices are a tad high, but it seemed worth it. The place was practically empty when I went. Why?! This place is good - go eat there!

We were very impressed with the service tonight, loved the food, loved the drinks, and we look forward to going back! I can't remember the servers name and she was the bartender as well. She went above and beyond! Keep up the good work

All soggy crab legs are not worth the price. The calamari probably had 6 pieces and the rest of the plate was stacked high with fried vegetables. No service, no re fills. Idk what happened to our waiter, she only had 3 tables & she never came back. Everything was very salty. Not a good experience, not recommended. Not returning here because the food and the service makes u feel like wasted money. Was not impressed at all. Everyone was sick next day & we all ordered same things.

We had a party of 7 (including one 2 year old) during a weekday around 12:30 pm. The place was completely empty. We ordered Shrimp Tacos, Coconut Shrimp, Snow Crab Legs ($$$) and hamburgers. Had soda & a few had beers. The food was generally good. The crab legs were overcooked & hard to get out of the shell. I believe the crab leg meal (with corn & potatoes) was $47.99! You get 3 clusters. The blackened shrimp tacos were ok. A bit overcooked & dry shrimp. I has to ask for sauce as it didn't come out with any. I also asked for sour cream, but they didn't have any. The hush puppies were really good. Two of our party ordered the Coconut Shrimp & they enjoyed it. Two others ordered hamburgers. Our 2 year old has a dairy allergy & we asked to not butter the buns. The waitress came back & told them that the buns were pre buttered, so he ate his without the bun.The waitress was good overall. Had to look for her a couple of times. They do have a nice playground for the kids. The restaurant including the bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed the decorations, especially the small alligator with the sparkle collar!Their gift shop was nice and had a lot of kid toys. I really loved one of their shirts, but they were all mens crew necks. I only wear v-neck t-shirts. It said 'Professional Leg Opener' on the back... meaning crab legs! Too funny!Overall experience was good. Not sure if I would go again as there are several other seafood restaurants in the area. Total with tip was $232.00.Kid-friendliness: Great playground area.Parking: Lots of free parking.Dietary restrictions: Was disappointed that they couldn't accomodate no butter on the hamburger buns.
