I've been coming here since my wife was in college ! This place is the bomb ! Best Jamaican food I've ever tasted ! It's always packed . They even have a club on some nights . You get heavy portions of food ! They recently moved locations which i didn't know but the food is still delicious !

This Restaurant is a very small place. Great for a grab & Go. I love their Curry Chicken & oxtails. Their prices are really good compared to other Jamaican places around the area.

Had the oxtails with Mac and cabbage and it was pretty damn good but that's not my problem. Great flavor in the oxtail and a pretty decent portion all around. Highly recommend

You have to check out Mp Island during lunch, I got the stew chicken and the lunch special deal is awesome . The cafe is always clean and neat and the service is fast. They also have a grocery side of the store with carribean food drinks deserts and herbs at a great price . Today I had the stew chicken rice and peas and plantains. Absolutely delicious!

A new addition to the MP brand in Portsmouth. The store front sells spices, snacks, beverages, etc. that are unique to the Caribbean and typically difficult to find else where. A few steps back toward the counter and you are able to order s few of the dishes notorious to the Caribbean. Dishes like oxtail, curry chicken, and patties (hand held flavorful meat pies). Patties are made with beef (spicy or mild), chicken, or veggies. Each a unique take on a classic meat pie. We are happy to have a taste of the Caribbean closer to home. Sample all of the unique dishes as they are all delicious. There is a place to dine in but most people seem to prefer take out. There is ample parking. This location is in a strip mall. Happy Eating Yeeps!!!

Food was good I was greatly excited when I looked around the store and seen they had nutriments a New York protein shake that I have been looking for so many Years lol and fair and white products I knew we would have a very long customerlationship lol I ordered the oxtail dinner and goat rotti it was actually some of the best h Jamacian food I've had in va it could be better but I am from ny so it's pretty good

I never had Jamaican food before, so I was a little nervous to eat it. My friend got me some jerk chicken, cabbage, & rice. They ordered it right before they closed one night, so I was hesitant even more. I thought it would be old and nasty. When we got the food, the chicken appeared to be moist. I tasted it and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor & kick of spice that danced around in my mouth from the first bite. The cabbage and rice were good too. I don't usually eat spicy food & I probably won't order this chicken again, but it was tasty. I ended up giving it to someone else. They ate it up. Maybe I will try something else in the future. We will see.

So I tried the curried goat with rice and peas and string beans. The goat was not spicy at all even after I had asked if it was spicy and she said yes, and the string beans was very tasteless. It wasn't the best experience and I was very disappointed as curried goat is my favorite meat. I don't think I will be going back.
TRASSSHH!!! I only gave 2 stars for presentation. If the chef was able to put some love in cooking the food it probably would come out better. Prices is high for the amount of food they give you. Honestly this place is a go to place for a last minute meal. Please do not take this review lightly.

I ordered the leg and thigh jerk chicken lunch special that comes with two side. I got rice & peas and macaroni and cheese. The portion sizes were satisfactory. I love the sauce that came on the side. When added to the rice and peas it's delicious and has a spicy kick! The chicken is falling off the bones and seasoned to perfection. The meat was nice and juicy. Will definitely order again.

This place is actually really good, I LOVE their stew chicken and Mac and cheese. Ask for extra sauce/ gravy on your food and you will not be disappointed. Only 4 stars because they charge extra for double sides that are the same

Would not recommend. This was my dinner last night. I woke up at 11 to puke. Had to leave work early been puking ever since I ate this food. Not gonna lie, the food tasted a little peculiar.. just stay away.
