L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

I was thoroughly disappointed with their Mac salad. I’ve been to a lot of l&ls, from Cali to here and this was nowhere near what Mac salad tastes like. I also ordered katsu chicken and did not receive any katsu sauce at all for the chicken or rice. Definitely sad about this experience.

Ribs were very tough to eat and overcooked. They do not wipe down the tables and don’t carry Siracha. We were given hot sauce packets instead of Siracha.

We've never had Hawaiian before, and neither had the rest of our party but we saw that there were burgers and fries on the menu so there were options for those feeling less adventurous. We had a party of 7. First we thought there would be actual plates. Everything came out in styrofoam takeout containers with plastic silverware. Then when all 7 Styrofoam containers got delivered to the table we had no clue which one belonged to which person. There was no "ok who had the short ribs, who had the bbq beef bowl" from the staff. Lady just dropped the tray full of Styrofoam containers off and left.
Husband's short ribs were tough. My bbq beef bowl was just beef strips (tough beef strips) , couple pieces of broccoli..couple carrots on bed of rice. Bland..no flavor, no seasoning on it. Is that how Hawaiian bbq usually tastes? We live and we learn I guess. Sadly our first encounter with Hawaiian bbq was disappointing. If someone can convince me that it's not usually like this we might try again but until then, no thanks

First time here and was disappointed. Food was way overpriced for the quality. Tables were sticky. Macaroni salad was overly garlicky and rice was bland. The beef was fatty. Person in our party ordered a shrimp sandwich, no onions. He received a fish sandwich with only onions. Another person in our party asked about the dole whip? but was told the ice cream machine was down. The individual shrimp had a good flavor. Staff were friendly enough. With all of the options in this area, I can't see this place lasting unless they really step up their game.

This is the place to be to EAT! Garlic Fried Fish is on point today! My new favorite to order next to chicken katsu! I’m rating this a 10 out of 10 for yum yum goodness for my tummy! Great job Kris for the chef’s kiss on the meal! I’m going to try all of the dishes, one at a time, over the course of my lifetime of course…?????? Thank you to Michelle Pinero and Kris Norman! I usually drive from the dmv just to visit this L&L. Loved L&L since living in Hawaii for years, but after these last 3 visits I will sadly not be returning. Order spam musabi everytime 2-3 to be exact and they have gotten dry and tasteless. I also order the lumpia as it’s another favorite and they’ve not had the sweet chili sauce all 3 times. The very last sad thing is no Hawaiian Suns): I can’t express how sad it is to get L&L and not have the Hawaiian suns): I miss when this L&L was had the great food I was so accustomed to.

I ordered double meat for dinner. When I arrived home, I realized that they didn't put my bbq beef in the tray. I called them right away. She asked if I wanted to return to the restaurant that night but I live too far away. I called them numerous times the next few days. They keep saying the manager isn't available and haven't called me. Very poor customer service for their mistake. I still haven't received the replacement dish. Smh

The service was good. The food left a lot to be desired. They were out of chicken at 5:30 on a Tuesday. The galbi was actually pretty thick and flavor was good. The beef was thin and tough. The worst part of the meal was the mushy, stale vegetables I was served. How could you even serve this??

Not only were they out of the popular item, the chicken. The staff was rude. I would rate the food but we never got it. After waiting 20 mins we were informed they ran out of food and it would take significantly longer only after we asked. The tables are sticky overall this place is not worth the visit.

Wth happened to this place??? Are they under new owners or just have a new chef? Worst food ever! This is NOT Hawaiian bbq. What happened to their amazing sauce? Everything today was absolutely ridiculous. Food was SO salty, could barely eat it. Ribs were chewy and rubbery, disgusting. Covered in like what looked & tasted like American bbq sauce from a can! The boxes were dripping in bbq sauce. What kind of ghetto music are they playing now? What happened to the calming Hawaiian music they use to play? It was SO loud, they couldn't hear my order and the tables sitting next to u all sound like screaming conversations. Staff was not helpful or kind. Cashier caught an attitude when customer behind me asked her to turn the music down. This place is just ghetto now! Not recommended and never coming back. Wasted money.
