We were here visiting and our first time here. Absolutely a wonderful experience from walking in to us leaving 3 hours later. The breakfast and drinks from the bar were amazing...this is why we stayed at the bar longer than usual. Our bartender/waitress, Taylor, was so attentive to all of our needs. She recommended the shrimp and grits to us and it did not disappoint!!! The best thing was Taylor's big smile she had on her face as she greeted and took care of everyone that sat down. She kept the drinks flowing! She did all of this while being short staffed that morning, but you would have never known by her bubbly attitude. We will definitely be back when we are visiting again. A must stop for a drink! Cheers!

Second time eating here in the last week. Food is terrific and the atmosphere is great! But what really sets Lockside apart from other restaurants is the excellent service! Both times Taylor was our server and she was amazing - professional, friendly, and attentive! She is the best!

Exceptional flounder and one of the best corn and crab chowder bowls I have ever had! Service was fantastic and very attentive and polite! Highly recommend for seafood when you are in Chesapeake. Great view of the canal from the dockside dining area. Fun to see fish jump from the water!

I ordered the salmon. My husband ordered the stuffed avocado. This was our first experience at this restaurant. The food was INCREDIBLE.

Peaceful waterfront spot and perfect place to relax on a beautiful day. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with just the right amount of charm.

Huge thanks to Jesse and Sara for their friendly, attentive service, they really made the visit special. A true hidden gem that’s worth returning to again and again.

Came in for breakfast today and the kitchen sink omelette was delicious, and the bartender, Taylor, was amazing!!! So friendly and attentive and didn’t miss a beat!! She’s fabulous and a master at her craft. I’ll definitely be back to have another delicious meal and to see the lovely Taylor again.

We came in on the weekend expecting to enjoy a bite and a drink, but were told no appetizers are served before 3:00 PM. That’s not just unusual, it’s flat-out unwelcoming for a place that markets itself as a casual bar and grill. Most places understand that appetizers are flexible, all-day items not tied to dinner hours. The owner’s response just restates the menu hours without addressing the issue: rigid policies that prioritize kitchen scheduling over customer service and experience.

We won’t be back. Plenty of other waterfront spots in the area know how to run a customer-friendly operation.

Back in the days they had Seafood Quiche serve with fruits and it was the bomb I wish they could bring that back...

Tasty seafood. The service is decent, if a bit slow. The only downside? Dusty decor that could use some attention. Good for casual dining

Best ribs I’ve ever had! They were a full huge rack, with such a great taste and just fall off the bone. Truly finger licking good. Not only that, they are quite the bargain at only $19. They have become quite a commodity amongst the locals so hope they don’t sell out. The best kept secret in Chesapeake, well secret no more. You’ve gotta come try them. You won’t be disappointed. Tell them Bert sent you! The picture is a DOUBLE STACK of ribs…Full Rack!
