My wife and I really enjoyed our experience this evening. The drinks were delicious and the appetizer (oysters Rockefeller)were so fabulous that we ordered a second batch. She had the fish and chips and I had the fish tacos. Of course we shared and we were both very impressed with our meals. I really can’t wait to return to try some of the other dishes that they prepare. Definitely a great place for your next meal.

Have visited Lockside Bar and Grill several times over the years. Great ambiance and just an overall cool place, especially if the weather is beautiful outside. The outside seating is 💯 where it’s at!!

Exceptional food. I’ve had the salmon, fried flounder, shrimp and grits and Osso bucco (new on their menu) and have tried a bunch of their crushes and cocktails. The creamsicle crush and the Lockside lemonade is fantastic! So delicious and made perfect! 🤩

The atmosphere and music vibes are on point. I’ve come here alone after running errands in the Chesapeake/Battlefield blvd area and I love sitting outside alone and looking out into the calming water! The servers never rush me out, thank you for that!

Will come back to try even more items from the menu. Thanks Lockside! Yummy yum yum 😋

My work team and i just went for happy hour drinks and appetizers, so I cant say for sure how everything is. I can say the drinks were good & the crab dip was soooo good! I have only been here this one time, but I'd go again if I was in the area. The outdoor seating options are pretty awesome! Definitely a great spot for nice weather!

The dock-master sent us there on a boat delivery. Stopped in for dinner. Tried the thai shrimp appetizer and the scallops rockafeller. Friendly service and the food was good. Worth a try. A short walk over the bridge from Atlantic Marine Basin.

I’ll start off with something nice to say - the food tasted good when I was eating it.

Now to the bad part(s)…

We arrived at 6:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant had a lot of teenagers in for homecoming, but it was no where near full capacity. We immediately were seated, ordered drinks (three sodas and a dinner special cocktail) after 20 minutes we got our drinks, but no cocktail.

The crab dip we ordered came 10-15 minutes later, very long wait time, with a ton of dip and about 10-12 crackers to eat it with. Our group of 5 ate all the crackers immediately and had to use a spoon to eat the large amount of dip left over.

The cocktail finally came, we put our orders in, and then proceeded to wait 35-40 minutes for the food to arrive. Two plates came, then after another 10min wait the rest came as well. Almost all were dinner specials, which should be very easy to prepare in a timely fashion.

The food tasted good, I’ll give them that, but the wait time was absurd. It took another 20min for the next cocktail to arrive. How long does it take to make an old fashioned? The server was nice, but slow and forgot the one condiment we requested.

To top this all off, the soup we requested to go came in a styrofoam cup with barely any soup in it for $14… we complained and they brought it back to the kitchen and filled it up and told us “they usually put two scoops, I don’t know why they didn’t give you more” as we overheard the table behind us get told they didn’t have enough steak to prepare all their food they ordered and to choose something else.

The cherry on top is shortly after arriving home I vomited the she crab soup I ordered and still feel queasy the day after. I and my family will not be going back to this establishment as the kitchen can’t handle the workload nor basic food safety standards.

Great local place to eat. We chose an outside table as the weather was great. Server (Emily) was great and was able to give us spot-on recommendations! Overall great meal and experience. Get the stuffed avocado - you won't regret it, and it was large enough for me to eat it as my meal. Husband and I shared as an appetizer though.

I ordered the hungry man.. three eggs hash browns, grits bacon and sausage.. eggs were supposed to be overeasing. They were fully cooked and chewy. I took one bite. Grits were cold, bacon was paper thin and chewy breakfast that I did not eat. Cost $30 with a $5 tip

Had an excellent meal during a visit to Norfolk. Prompt courteous service and excellent food. Had a mix of the specials and off the menu selections that hit the spot for a cool and rainy evening.

The restaurant itself has a rustic atmosphere but sitting outside offers a beautiful view onto the water and surrounding greenery. Food was delicious
and the service was great.

They have a staffing problem both servers and the kitchen. When for lunch on Sunday. Was told 30 to 45 min wait when most of their table were empty?? Was told the kitchen was under staffed. I would suggest they close their doors rather than telling guests 30 to 45 min wait. I will give them a time off for a month.
