Painfully mundane. Been here three times and my experience has become tiresome every time. Service is bare minimum, as the waitress we had was more interested in talking to two of her friends versus anything else. Cajun Chicken was cooked but not seasoned. It was like eating a protein meal for $17.
If you /really/ need a burger, go elsewhere. But if you want an honest experience of how boring Chesapeake is, McGarth reflects that.
Sneaky fantastic food. Shout out to Karma who took care of us
Took about 15 minutes to order and it wasn't busy. Waitress too busy socializing. When food came out she didn't bring our sauces for ten minutes so food got cold. Fish and chips flavor was good but only one piece for $19 . And there was some giant bug in the bathroom I ran so fast. Burger decent fries decent though a little burnt but overall not a great experience. Should have drove the extra 10 minutes the opposite way and went to craft
Friendly wait staff, good food
I absolutely love the food here. A little hole in the wall burger shack, but very tasty. Portion sizes, particularly with fries, are decently generous. The burgers are juicy, and the different burger options they have are diverse and have great flavor.
As with every thing in the entire world it seems, run of the mill meal prices have crept up to what a five-course gourmet fine dining experience at your local Outback used to cost. Alas, that’s not the case anymore, so I can’t single them out for that.
Sons recommended it for a family dinner, everything was awesome. Fried pickles are the best, and the bbq Jameson burger is delicious. Recommend ordering multiple appetizers and sharing.
Hands down, McGrath’s Burger Shack serves the best burgers in Chesapeake. Juicy, flavorful, and always cooked to perfection. The toppings are fresh, the buns are toasted just right, and the staff is friendly. If you love a good burger, this spot is a must-visit.
Kat (or Cat not sure how she spelled her name-sorry!) and Elijah were great when we went to see them for lunch today. Very welcoming people and environment. SUPER CLEAN. Sadly only got to have the opportunity to eat the fried pickle spears. SO YUMMY. The power was lost to the whole plaza due to an accident down the road. Neither one of them rushed us to leave faster, they honestly made me happy to stay as long as possible from their very friendly demeanor and also by have the appetizer on the house (not required but offered without hesitation) probably due to the loss of power. They were both so personable from the very beginning. Highly recommend this all around great restaurant, staff and hospitality.
Thank you both for being so awesome. We are sad to missed out on some great burgers today but just gained life long customers. We will be back! 😊
Burger was overcooked and had no flavor tasted like ground beef and that’s it. Wont be coming back

The whiskey burger was fantastic! The fries were overdone but still edible. There was only one waitress, but she did a good job. The place was unfortunately miserably hot. If it had been cooler it, it would have been an A+ meal.
