Amazing bagel spot! The exterior of the bagels were crispy but the centers were pillowy. Great portions, variety, and flavor. Will be coming 100%

Went here to get food and treat myself, I got a downtown and a muffin. The bagel itself wasn’t bad, it didn’t have a whole lot of taste to it overall. The muffin was okay as well. I got about one bite into it and then the texture and taste made it seem like it wasn’t cooked all the way through which threw off my appetite quite a bit. It seemed to have a friendly atmosphere but overall I won’t be going back again. I’d give it a 4/10

Pastrami was very good...corned beef was great. Also, grab a square of crumb cake...legit NY.
The people were friendly, and the food was excellent. Entering the place I noticed right off the back that the glass on the front door doors hadn’t been cleaned in at least a few days. It was pretty printed up. While waiting for my food, I noticed that the hanging vinyl guards in front of the personnel door and the serving counter for the kitchen were covered in greasy smears, fingerprints and food debris. I think this should be cleaned all the time as it could possibly make contact with my food. More than one of the tables hadn’t been cleaned. There were only three other people in the CUSTOMER area when I was there it looked like somebody could’ve taken care of that. Not really a big deal. The restroom was horrific. Definitely needed some attention. The floor was so sticky that my boots were sticking to it in a disgusting way. I didn’t want to touch anything in there so basically great place to eat. Food is excellent. Kitchen looked clean, but the dining area needed some attention as far as cleanliness goes

Okay bagel (not amazing but this is Virginia after all), good portion of lox and toppings, but such little cream cheese that I went home and had to put on more. Considering one bagel cost me almost $20, I would expect a good amount of cream cheese. I tried to have realistic hopes and expectations but this place still fell short.

I had the sandwich The Don with coleslaw side, it was excellent. The pastrami was the best I have had around the area. Coleslaw was very good too. Quick service since mine was on the run, love that.
Have had bagels before which are also really good.

Do not walk, run to New York Bagel Company. As someone that has lived in NYC, this place sets the bar very high (dare I say better than any bagel sandwich I’ve ever had). The pastrami is an absolute must, it literally brought me to tears. The atmosphere has that NYC neighborhood hangout friendly vibe that I have missed so much. Just overall *chefs kiss*
P.S. Just take some crumb cake home already.

Visiting family from Massachusetts, but we lived in NYC for 4 years - I think the best bagel in NYC might not be in NYC at all. It’s here in Virginia. Hands down the best bacon egg and cheese (and hash brown) I’ve ever had.
Also tried a bagel sandwich with pastrami on it, at the suggestion of the employees, and the pastrami was absolutely delicious, melt in your mouth.
Great service, great food. Neighborhood friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be making a point to come back next time we’re in town!

Feels like a little bit of home. I have missed my local bagel shop back in Astoria Queens so when I found this place I was thrilled. The bagels are great but the crumb cake is fabulous too. The muffins are just like you get in a NY shop. Did I mention the pastrami? Just go and grab a coffee and anything on the menu and hang out with the owner Charlie and his wife Natasha. Good times.

We have been coming here almost weekly for the past year because they have the best bagels, sandwiches & pastrami you will ever find in VA! The owners and staff are all so amazing & we love that it feels like a home away from home 🙂
Pictured are 2 of our favorites- The Don & the L-train.

Very disappointed. Rye bread was burned. The burned side had been turned in toward the corned beef, cheese and sauerkraut causing it all to taste burned.
