Best Venue in the area. It's a humble place with easy going security that attracts a good crowd. Shows are not widely advertised which gives it an underground feel. It definitely has the right atmosphere for metal shows.

I was pleasantly surprised when I first arrived. With the area that it's located, I wasn't sure what to expect. The food was pretty good, especially for a "dive" bar. One bartender was super sweet and helpful. The other ignored me pretty much the whole night. The women's restroom is small and interesting. It reminds me of a bathroom from Belize.

I'll start with the good: Surprisingly for a bar - the food is pretty excellent. Not so surprisingly - the bands are always good (depending on which night you go - the music may or may not be your taste), but the bands are always good. There are pool tables played for quarters and the drinks are pretty affordable. Other positive note is that there is a separate side for smoking that is separate from the music area.Negatives: The smoking side is where the pool tables are!The biggest negative is their parking lot. There is not just a pot hole - there is a CRATER leaving their parking lot and not a whole lot of light leaving the area. I hit this two weeks ago. Mind you - I am in the parking lot, so I am going VERY slow and this crater not only popped my tire, it bent my rim, sent my hubcap flying, and damaged my wheel. I have never audibly heard the air leave my tire before until now. So here I am $1100 in the hole all because of a crater in a parking lot. I would love to send the invoice to the bar (not for them to pay it - though that would be nice), but for them to fix their parking lot. PLEASE. I was watching my husband's band play. All of his earnings that night (and then some) went to this repair.

Bartender tonight told me I was "too intoxicated to serve". I had 2 beers tonight, I suppose my sin was singing along to Billy Joel's Piano Man, which just hits me hard. I apologize. Usually a good bar but the waitresses are hit or miss.

Wow!! Heavy duty rock n rolllll! I had no idea that this joint has been putting in metal, punk, rockin! Shows for so long!! Whoda thunk in Chesapuke?Great service! Great pool tables! Great prices! Food was decent and cheap!Oh and the venue? Great sound guy!Fun, diverse, not-boorish crowd! All the good parts of a sleazy punk show and none of the nonsense! Thanks for having us!

We always enjoy watching the bands at the Riff House. Super Fang is one of our favorites and the sound in this place is awesome!

Riff House Pub is a good place to see a band or two. I recommend hearing protection to overcome the less-than-ideal acoustics.
