This is my first review of any restaurant we took my niece here for her birthday against my better judgment because I’ve been here’s once before and the service was bad but I said well maybe it’s improved but no. We had a 1:00 RESERVATION and didn’t even get a glass of water until 2:15 as we were seeing other people at the bar that came after us get served eat and leave we spoke to the manager who said they were short staffed which is the same story I got the 1st time I came here. The manager claim our ticket never made it to the kitchen, I’m writing this to prevent this from happening to you, we ended up having to going somewhere else but a Wendy’s combo would’ve been faster! My biggest regret was staying as long as we did can’t get that time back! Please before coming here just go to Wendy’s!

A party of two, came in with no reservations and we were seated at the bar which was nice... We were sitting for 45 mins before we were even given a courtesy water! And after two full hours of waiting on our food, we finally received it. You would think the food would be fresh and hot after waiting for so long but nope! My fish and chicken was cold while the sides were room temperature! The fish tasted like a container of black pepper was just dumped all over it while the chicken had no taste of seasoning at all. This was definitely a disappointment for me because I had high hopes for this place. It's not worth the prices at all. I definitely would not recommend.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! My Wife I went and were so excited about going. First red flag when we arrived there was no one to sit us so we thought we seat ourselves so we did just that and this guy comes running over with a little attitude like do you have a reservation and I asked if I needed one he stated no and allowed us to sit. It took 20mins to meet our server once we met her she took our orders and we proceeded to wait for over an HOUR for our food. The server didn’t remember our orders she had to come back and ask us what we ordered. The food is TASTELESS I mean when I say NOTHING was good NOTHING was good. I ordered The Fish and Grits the fish was HUGE with no seasoning, the greens tasted like vinegar and salt that’s it the grits were horrible I had to request salt and pepper and by the time I got someone’s attention for that my grits were cold. My wife had The Down home breakfast and that was these boiled home fries with peppers and onions but no flavor the eggs looked like Mac and cheese from the box. We ordered Mimosas and it was just a glass full of syrup and a splash of Champagne. They charge an automatic 20% gratuity for GARBAGE!! I didn’t even want to leave this type of review I was hoping to be able to support but we spent over $100 and the food was absolutely horrible and to top it off when we left there we had to stop by Firehouse to grab a Sub because we were still hungry!! They say live band there is One Man with two instruments a phone and a speaker!!!! My feelings and My pockets are still so hurt but this was My first and My last time I will NEVER return and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!! If you wanna just throw your money away then by all means SOULIVIA is the place to do it!!

I went here yesterday with a couple of friends for brunch. First I put in a reservation a couple days before going to the place. When my friend got there they said they didn't know there was a reservation. I ordered chicken and waffles for $28. My chicken was cold and plain not the size of an average chicken breast my waffle was cold and plain as well. ordered scrambled eggs on the side I didn't receive them at all. So I asked them to take it off. Since I didn't receive my scrambled eggs. When I received my food I had two little chicken fingers that looked like it could have been put in the microwave & heated up yourself. The servers were nice but all they could say was oh we didn't have enough servers or cooks today. One walked out and the other two didn't show up. So we are low on service. I should've gotten a refund! Moral of the story I got food poisoning from this place. 04/10 wouldn't recommend. Your price for the food doesn't match the quantity or the quality. Everyone's review on here is wonderful has flowers in their waffles and beautifully decorated and while mine was plain,

What have I been missing all this time? From the time we opened the door until the time we left we had a great time. After discovering this great establishment & browsing the menu online I couldn't wait to try it out, I figured my friend's birthday was the perfect reason. It was the best decision I made, discovering my friend had wanted to try it out & the band that Friday night was great, as was our meal!So food....it was hard to decide but i went with the fried chicken. That sweet potato muffin ? let me tell you, I never knew I needed those in my life for all of my meals? I said birthday so of course we saved room for dessert & were not disappointed. The icecream was so silky next to that pineapple coconut pound cake. I cannot wait to return & work my way down the menu as well as check out brunch. The vibe is lovely, the staff was great, & the food was just right.I was driving & did not try any drinks this time but there was a lovely bar so next time I plan to check a few things out. If you have not been check them out. Make a reservation, enjoy the patio, or pull up with a friend and give them a shot. I think you'll find something you like. Edinburgh has stuff to offer right behind the Wawa.

Overall most of the food items are delicious but twice I’ve had the cat fish and once it was excellent but today it was fried way too hard. I should have asked for a softer piece, but service was pretty slow (20% tip is automatic). The entertainment was excellent by Rick Elliott and a surprise guest from the audience who sang and sounded very much like Luther Vandross. It would be nice to have received a friendly greeting upon entering the restaurant, no matter how busy they were.

The ambience is nice. For the distance and rates, we can find better and more desirable prices closer to home. The food was just, "okay" and the drinks are pricey for small servings. There was only one waiter on duty for it to be a Saturday and it took over an hour from seating to eating. The waiter forgot my friend's waffle and my other friend's drink. The owner came out towards the end and all of this was brought to her attention but she deflected it upon the party opposed to their lack of staff. There was an automatic gratuity that amounted to $50 for our table whereas the service rendered was really half of that, if that. It's safe to say, we won't be back.

Visited for a late brunch and everything was perfect - food, service, drinks, and dessert to go. The owner made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. Will definitely go back again and again. We had the chicken and (sweet potato) waffle. WOW! It was so light, fluffy, and flavorful without being overly sweet. The chicken breast was moist and perfectly seasoned. Absolutely perfect!! We took banana pudding and bread pudding home and both were delicious! Please support local, non-chain restaurants and small business owners.

**KEEP YOUR MONEY*****From the top reviews we thought this place was gonna be amazing. We were so excited. The dip was good but not worth $24. The chips to it were falling apart and some soggy . The steak was bland and needed seasoning. My first drink was watery, I had to request a remake. The asparagus didn’t taste cooked just warmed. The mash potatoes was sweet like someone sprinkled a whole bunch of sugar in there. The corn muffins tasted like banana/bran. The snapper looked like it was reheated or refried. There was seasoning in the batter but not in the fish. The fish is too big not to have the flavor in it. The coco rice wasn’t good. The greens weren’t good. They tasted very similar to Glory’s can greens. I felt robbed because all the money I spent and I didn’t taste one bit of soul food . Even more crazy is there’s 20% automatic gratuity. Oh the apple slaw was refreshing and the 2nd Arnold Palmer actually was good.

I took my friend there for Sunday brunch for his birthday. The food was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The owner was very nice and engaging with her customers. The musicians were playing jazz music, but because of the size of the restaurant, the music was a bit loud. We will be back for dinner for sure.

The food was fine, but the service is absolutely horrible. They brought out half of our meals and then it took an additional 40 minutes for the other half of the meals to come. The restaurant was not full when we got there, and there was no warning about any of the dishes taking extra time. Even though the service was awful, the manager refused to take off any of this dishes that came unreasonably late. We had flights to catch and this delayed us greatly so we just had to pay and leave. The prices are INSANE. Each dish is $30 for brunch. For that price point I expect good service too. A very disappointing experience.
